Bright two-level apartment for a young girl from New York

Very high ceilings - not a hindrance for a cozy andInteresting interior. This was proved by designers from the studio Axis Mundi. They created an ultramodern, stylish interior with bright details, transforming a nondescript premise into a two-level apartment. This bright apartment is filled with light and positive energy. It is furnished with designer things with taste and in moderation. It seems that there is a young and full person here. Or maybe it is? For example, the owner of the apartment is a 25-year-old girl, who since childhood has become accustomed to noisy parties and good expensive things. And what if we go further, and assume that her parents are well-known party members in Manhattan, representatives of the creative class? It's already getting interesting, is not it? The author of this project is Jon Beckman (JonBeckerman), who heads the studio Axis Mundi. He decided to decorate this small two-level apartment with an area of 67.5 square meters in a modern style. He created the interior with colleagues Nic Messerlian and Richard Rosenbloom. The fact is that initially it was just a room without walls and partitions with a very high ceiling. For John, this was not a problem, on the contrary, he turned this disadvantage into one big advantage by building a second level. A cantilever black staircase made of steel leads to it. Thus, the result is quite a nice duplex apartment with a spacious bedroom, an ergonomic kitchen and a cozy living room. Although we assumed that the landlady lovesparties, at home she probably wanted peace and quiet. Indeed, John and his fellow designers have managed to create a space for relaxation that is not devoid of dynamics. And it was possible to get around boredom and not make the interior monotonous thanks to many design things. This is the famous egg chair by Arne Jacobsen, and a handmade designer carpet from The Rug Company, and a pendant chandelier by Gino Sarfatti, and lamps by Philippe Starck. A striking detail of the interior is the magnificent single-strip parquet, emphasizing the good taste of the hostess, apparently instilled in her by her parents. Our opinion: - The apartment lacks a TV set and a music center. The landlady preferred to them a neat custom-made fireplace. She loves to look at the fire and listen to the crackling of logs. Paintings were chosen as wall decor -works of local artists. They are made in a nautical theme, since the sea, perhaps, is another "weakness" of the girl. This was the reason for the choice of blue for the decoration of the bedroom. In addition to the fact that this is one of the most relevant colors this year, in this version, blue has a calming effect on the psyche. See how it blends in with the evening landscape outside the window. White is intended to curb the brightness of the color details in this interior. He is a kind of filter that does not allow impulsivity to become the main one in this apartment. Everything should be in harmony. That is why the kitchen was made completely white, and the facade of the headset was made glossy. It reflects light falling from a large arched window. So a small space is filled with air and becomes light. Wooden chairs echo the parquet floor and prevent the snow-white kitchen from earning a reputation for sterile, soulless space. Our opinion: - A small apartment with high ceilings has become a cozy abode for a young and cheerful person who appreciates contemporary art, loves nature, is actively involved in sports (as evidenced by the bicycle under the stairs). This girl appreciates quality and you can feel it in every detail. In our opinion, the interior is complete and complete. Photographer Mikiko Kikuyama
