Want to see how you can transform the interiorin eight weeks without extensive renovation work? And find out what color can be an excellent base? Then take a look at this serene apartment in New York. Designer Sara Story was tasked with updating the interior while the daughters of the owner of this house are at summer camp. The apartment belongs to the leading specialist in dermatology, Dr. Gervaise Gerstner. Perhaps that is why the overall picture turned out to be calm and peaceful, as well as restraint in the medical profession. Sara Story, Designer Born in Japan, raised in Singapore, graduated from the Academy of Arts in San Francisco with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design. In 2003, she founded a studio in New York and quickly gained popularity and recognition thanks to her corporate identity. Sarah is not only a great designer, but also a happy mother of three children. Dr. Gervaise is a person for whom discipline and cleanliness are important components both in the professional field and in everyday life. Therefore, practical neutral colors were chosen for the interior, but at the same time, the space is not devoid of elegance and some zest. Take, for example, the dining room, where on the one hand everything is quite even and peaceful, but the black patent leather on the chairs and bench, as well as the glossy coffee table by Willy Rizzo in the living room add an interesting variety to this kingdom of tranquility. Our opinion: - Gray is a universal color that will fit into any interior and will become an ideal base. So if you decide to focus on shades of gray, make sure that there is enough light in the room, otherwise the atmosphere will be dull. Lighter and brighter such an interior will help to make the presence of mirrors, glass and reflective surfaces, crystal, gold and silver accessories. To keep the interior from looking boring, enrich it with a variety of textures. But the presence of black will perfectly complement the gray scale and reward the interior with aristocratic nobility. Throughout the apartment, even despite the gray colorgamut, feminine character can be traced. This is not surprising, since after the death of her husband, Dr. Gerstner herself is raising two daughters. And the picture with the image of a stylish shoe with heels only confirms the previous speculations and adds rich color to the space. Despite the fact that this is a cosmetic repair and no global changes, except for the addition of accessories and painting the walls, were not made, as the hostess herself noted, the interior has noticeably changed. The hand-painted on the wall from the Porter Teleo studio fits in especially well. The kitchen began to border between country and city style after the replacement of the headset and wooden floors. And the lamp from Jonathan Adler in the master bedroom seemed to always stand on a black lacquered chest of drawers. For the youngest daughter Olivia, it was decided to createlittle princess's apartment. The pale pink colors of the trim and the canopy bed in delicate silver fabric are designed to create a warm, cozy corner for a young lady. The eldest daughter wanted to decorate the interior of her room in shades of lavender, and the highlight here were pillows with an unusual print, comfortably located on the soft sofa bed. One of the small rooms in the apartment was allocated to girls for study; there is only a large desk for two and chairs. Our opinion: - Usually, light shades are chosen for small rooms, but here the rich blue color seems to blur the boundaries between the walls and looks very advantageous in a company with white accents.
