Design a small apartment of 24 square meters

Typically, designers deal with smallapartments like this: they choose a couple of cozy light shades and dilute them with bright accents. In the case of this Far Eastern apartment, the choice fell on the most unexpected color - black. The result is stunning. Old houses from Stalin's times are known for inconvenient layouts and small apartment areas, but it is in them that the highest ceilings and large beautiful windows are usually found. It was these two features that helped the designer Tatyana Shishkina to bring to life a bold idea - black monochrome. After graduation, she worked in one of the famous design studios in Vladivostok, and on September 4, 2014, together with a colleague, she officially opened the Inroom design studio. She won the 8th season of the international Pinwin competition, the Barlett Interior Awards - 2016 and the Add Awards - 2016. She calls her work not just a hobby, but a passion, a second life. Such a ceiling height with a very tiny area gives the effect of a well. And the designer decided to turn this minus into a plus, breaking the space vertically. As a result, the apartment has acquired a second level and a new usable area, and its tenants will not feel like they are at the bottom. Thanks to the additional space, newthe ability to place all the zones necessary for life. On the first level there was an entrance hall with a wardrobe for seasonal clothes, a bathroom with a large shower, a living room with a soft sofa and a TV area, a tiny but functional kitchen. The second level was occupied by a bedroom with a large bed, a dressing room that can be hidden behind curtains, and a small office. The client was very pleased with the new layout, because before she had to sleep on a folding sofa, and there was a sorely lack of storage space. In such a non-standard apartment and decoration shouldbe original, so the main color in the design was black. And that the space did not look gloomy and overloaded, he was picked up in an oak white floor and snow-white ceiling. One little trick helped to reduce the height and make the room lighter: a ceiling frieze 30 cm high. Of course, such an unusual designdemanded thoughtful lighting. It was necessary to place several sources of "warm" light to create comfort - a floor lamp by the sofa, a table lamp near the TV stand, a large decorative chandelier and a small lamp by the bed. But it was impossible to do without the main lighting - high-power spot-on spotlights with a neutral light temperature. If necessary, they will flood the entire studio space with light. As for furniture, a lot will be done onorder, because in a small apartment every centimeter is important, and it is very difficult to choose ready-made furniture for the required dimensions. To order, for example, a kitchen set will be made - the lower facades are made of painted MDF, the upper facades are made of black tinted veneer, and the Gorenje retro refrigerator will become the hallmark of the kitchen. In the living room, the TV stand will also be made to order, the sofa and coffee table have been chosen from the B&B brand. In the bathroom, strict Germans made friends with soft Frenchmen - Duravit plumbing fixtures and Volevatch mixers. It turned out to be a great combination! Related Articles ground floor plan
