During this time, the glue will swell up to a jelly-like thick mass. It must be cooked in a water bath. For this operation, you need an empty can of canned food, a piece of wire about 2 mm thick and a can or a pot a little larger than a tin can. The wire is wrapped around the neck of the jar with glue in such a way that some kind of ears are formed, with which the bank will rest on the edges of the container. Pour water into the container and put it on the fire. A small jar is placed in a large jar. After boiling water in a large container, stir the prepared adhesive. In 10 minutes it will be ready. Check the readiness of self-welded glue in this way: put the wooden stick in the glue and lift it. The glue should drain from it in a smooth trickle. If you blow on the glue, a thin film should appear on its surface. You can add 10% of linseed oil to the finished glue. This will give the adhesive mass water resistance. Flaxseed oil can be replaced with natural linseed oil. Often when reworking old door leaves you have to remove a layer of old paint from their surface.
