The design of the building was designed by the architect DavidAdjaye, who described the idea of his idea as "the opposition of art and shopping." The shape of the building is a simple block that is unusually contiguous. On one side there is a shopping area, on the other - a gallery. The building looks massive and at the same time extraordinarily airy and flexible. 
Construction of the building cost $ 100 million. The total area of the premises is 17,600 square meters, of which 3,700 are exhibition spaces.
