We continue to review amazing architectural anddesign objects found all over the world. This time, we will meet the magnificent master Eric Carlson, who has developed a project with a luxurious design. It combines classic and modern features. It was completed in 2012 in Riga, the capital of Latvia. is located in a building built in the 19th century, which has not lost its historical image. There, retro flares and elements of modern thriving life are woven into an amazing assortment. In this small space, one of the important aspects is a sustainable sense of spaciousness, which is so successfully optimized to maximize the capacity and roominess of the room. In the living room we see wooden floors and classic furniture, as well as a luxurious Gothic chandelier. The contrast is actively emphasized everywhere: a row of wall-lined photographs with sporty retro cars and a bright carpet on the floor, a stain of a “tanned” leather chair and a trendy gray sofa. Kitchen fronts seem to possess somefuturistic nature. They are mostly in gray tones, sometimes covered with silver, with splashes of red here and there (kitchen faucet, nightstand, kettle, dishes). A semicircular chandelier above the table resembles a UFO that regulates its landing. The combination of gray, silver and red tones determines a very artistic approach to kitchen design. Although it seems minimalistic, such shades are visually stimulated. continues in the same color range. Walls covered with light gray tiles contrast with the dark gray on the floor. An unusual element seems to be a completely transparent shower, like a glass cube inscribed in a bathroom. This cold “grayness” is diluted with bright strokes by red shelves, towels, and also a strip of abstract colored mosaics. To preserve the classic features, the cupboard under the sink and the stands above it were created from a delightful dark wood. Amazing design taste allowed to preservein this apartment, both a dedication to historical values such as the gothic and retro style of the 60s, and to pay tribute to the future, using modern materials and cultures. An exquisite combination, isn't it? Write your opinion in the comments!
