How to properly work with color and light ininterior? What techniques should be used to create the appearance of a large space in a small area? Today we will show you an apartment that will surprise you with simple and effective ideas. Color without light in the interior is impossible to consider. They are closely interrelated and influence each other. With their help, it is easy to create the illusion of an airy and spacious room. This small apartment is located in Serbia, Belgrade. It was designed by the Pujo.Rs. architectural bureau. The dwelling is located on the top floor of a building built in the 80s of the last century. The main goal of the architects was to transform outdated interiors into modern living spaces. Since such apartments are not large in size, it was necessary to find the right balance in space. Therefore, experts decided to focus on the interaction of light and color.
Colors of comfort and tranquility
Judging by the white color of the apartment, you canto assume that it is inhabited by people who are distinguished by perseverance and optimism. They are multifaceted and extraordinary personalities. According to psychologists, people with a pessimistic disposition avoid white and will not surround them with the space around them. The brown range, which dilutes the whiteness of this interior, creates an atmosphere of reliability and warmth. It is the color of solidity and comfort. He is liked by calm, judicious individuals who value trust in a relationship. Most likely, a young couple lives here who have recently started a family. They are about 30 years old. In Serbia, it is customary to marry closer to this age, when a career has already taken shape and a certain outlook on life has been formed. Perhaps he is a technical engineer, she is an accountant, and their union is a consequence of an office romance. Their activities require special concentration, so at home they need an environment in which they can easily relax and unwind. Our opinion: - Given the lack of space, the choice in favor of such a color scheme is quite logical. Remember the apartment is located in Belgrade? The name in translation means "white city". Apparently, this also left an imprint on the interior design. 
Light design
Light in modern interior design decides notonly aesthetic tasks, but also functional and emotional ones. It strongly affects a person's mood. Diffused light disposes to rest. You can observe how correctly the sources of artificial lighting are selected in the interior. The task of the authors of the project was to create a relaxing atmosphere so that there would be no unnecessary stress on vision. We see that the lighting design uses spotlights, backlights hidden in furniture shelves, chandeliers and sconces. The combination of light and white, as well as small accent sculptures, add an emotional dimension to the space. Cute figures hint that family and comfort are a priority for the owners of the premises. Our opinion: - Lighting that is close to natural light is considered more harmless for human eyes. If the surface of the walls has cracks, irregularities and defects - do not illuminate them. Otherwise, the light will only emphasize it. The white design of the room gives its advantages for the inclusion of colored details in the interior. Gradually, you can revive and diversify it with interesting combinations (both simple and complex). In such an interior, not only pieces of furniture can serve as accents, but also flowers, books, sculptures and even clothes, which can be observed on the example of this apartment. If the wall facing the window is painted in a light tone, this will allow you to achieve the effect of more illumination of the space.

Mirrors are "friendly" with light design.They are able to visually "open" the walls. Mirrors are considered to be interior windows for a reason. The light veil, reflected in the mirror, enlarges the space of the room. Glossy surfaces have a mirror effect. For this reason, such furniture has been selected in the interior. Also, the mirrors in this apartment make the space visually balanced, smoothing out non-standard walls. Agree, the wall murals with the image of the city look spectacular, which doubles thanks to the mirrored wall and makes the non-standard room symmetrical. 
Balcony for the soul
The balcony in the apartment is a great place forrecreation. He became the final accent of the entire space. This zone is dominated by a warm range of natural wood. For evening relaxation, a light design with diffuse lighting was used here. The proximity of light and twilight is associated with nature and creates a comfortable mood. The owner of the house is passionate about flowers and has created a beautiful “island” for the soul. In Serbia, it is customary to visit guests without warning. And in case of a sudden visit from friends, the couple has a wonderful place on the balcony overlooking Belgrade. And in cool weather, they can take refuge in the apartment, sitting at the table, which is located in the contemplation zone. From here, you can easily observe the local beauty through the large glass doors. Our opinion: - The interior of the apartment looks fresh, airy, simple and comfortable. The scale and proportions are balanced, there is a certain rhythm and accents. In many ways, harmony in a small area was achieved thanks to the right colors and lighting design.
