The difficulty is that they are easy to deform - they are torn. In addition, it is possible that if the repair will be carried out in the old house, under the old wallpaper there may be a few more of their layers that were not removed during the previous cosmetic repairs. It is also possible that the walls can be pasted with newspapers that used to be used as a basis. Ways of removal: Scheme removal of wallpaper using a spatula. Method number 1. Paper wallpaper soaked with water, which adds vinegar or conditioner for laundry. The resulting solution is applied to the wall surface using a roller or a conventional sponge. The paper needs to soak, therefore, before proceeding to remove, it is necessary to wait some time - 20 minutes. After the paper has become drowsy, it will well peel off. Using a spatula, the wallpaper is separated from the wall. Those places that are poorly impregnated, will tear. Therefore, the remaining pieces of wallpaper (which are not peeled off) are additionally treated with an aqueous solution. It may be necessary to wet them several times to completely clean the surface of the wall. To remove wallpaper, you can use specialmeans that soften and destroy the glue. Method number 2. Use of special liquid. Now the construction market offers a large number of solvents that have good penetrating ability and are safe for humans. The liquid for removal is diluted with a certain amount of water (its quantity is indicated on the package and, depending on the manufacturer, it can differ) and applied to the walls. The active substance, which is part of the liquid, quickly softens and destroys the structure of the glue. After several minutes of exposure to such a solution, you can easily remove the wallpaper from the wall surface. Strange as it may seem, but if you add a little wallpaper paste to the used liquid, apply it to the wall and wait until it dries completely, the paper will peel off whole layers. Method number 3. One of the best ways to remove wallpaper is to use a steam generator. Under the influence of steam, the glue swells and the wallpaper quicklyare deleted. Hot steam is fed to the wall, and under its influence the glue swells. This method is good not only for removing the paper type of decorative finishing, but also for non-woven or vinyl wallpaper, too. Since the purchase of a steam generator for single use can be considered impractical, it is recommended to use a conventional iron with the function of steamer and tissue flap. Method number 4. If the old wallpaper was pasted with PVA, you will have to remove them manually, since this glue does not dissolve under the influence of water, steam or special liquid. The main pieces of paper are peeled off with a spatula. To get rid of the remaining fragments, which could not scrape off the spatula, you can use a round metal brush that is mounted on the drill. Removing the remains can also be done with a grinder. Back to contents</a>
