The advantage of furniture madeindependently, is the ability to integrate it into the design of the most unusual environment. This also applies to the most popular piece of upholstered furniture - the sofa. Of course, to make a product that takes its place in the interior of the room and is decorated in a certain style, you need the conditions of a carpentry workshop.

Making the frame of the sofa with your own hands
The main material for the frame can beuse laminated chipboard for the overall design or furniture board. The latter is more expensive, and if the furniture maker does not have the skills, its damage will lead to unnecessary costs. For this, prepare 3 chipboard boards 1700x850x30 mm, 2 of them - with lamination. The third sheet will serve as the base, and its appearance does not matter. To save material, you can use a door leaf instead of chipboard. Before laying the foam blocks, the base is covered with agrotextile or other dense fabric.
Tools for making a sofa.You can adjust the parameters of the elements based on the conditions of the sofa installation. It is advisable to order the cutting to size at the place of purchase of the material. There you can also finish the ends or glue the edging yourself using an iron. The chipboard sheets will need to be cut into blanks for the manufacture of the main elements:
- horizontal bottom;
- sidewalls (armrests);
- backrests;
- the front wall of the carcass (rods).

The third board is sawn into 2 parts 600 × 850 mm (for the sides) and 2 strips 250 × 850 mm. The latter will form the front part of the sofa frame. - supporting bars transverse;
- Assembly bars, for fastening in the corners of the frame:

- edge for finishing the ends;
- self-tapping screws or fixing bolts;

- glue joiner and PVA.

- hacksaw or electric jigsaw;
- drill and screwdriver;
- furniture stapler;
- sewing machine, scissors;
- a knife for cutting foam rubber;
- level, measuring tape;
- sandpaper.

Manufacture of foam blocks

When sewing sofa covers with your own hands, the mutual symmetry of the patterns on the elements of the soft structure must be observed.
