After the successful launch of the project to creategarden furniture, its founder Jennifer Hope, who works with teenagers, decided to expand the range of their joint work. I wanted to create something more substantial, laconically combining ecology and local color "I wanted to create something more substantial, laconically combining ecology and local color. After consulting with my father, who runs a construction company, I decided to develop a project for a house that is accessible to everyone," Jennifer says with a sparkle in her eyes. This is how her own company "Wee House Company" was born, the main workers of which were ordinary students. The budget of the first building was capacious enough to build it in a short time. The designer, a friend of Jennifer, embodied in this house the traditional spirit of Scotland, which was expressed in a marine style of decoration. Creating this tiny charming house, they could not even imagine how popular their brainchild would become, which soon, as if from a carbon copy, many families would begin to build. The cost of such a mini-cottage is approximately $100,000.
Summary
Location:Drongan village in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Number of rooms: 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 bathroom and 1 kitchen. The house took seven weeks to build and was completed in July 2013. Decorated with fragrant flowers and fresh furnishings, the new home appeared before the new residents in all its bright, light and airy glory. The house grew up in the garden of Jen's parents. Despite its apparent fragility, the design included double insulation so that the inside would be as warm and cozy in the cold winter as in the summer. "There is a large field outside the garden and sometimes we see graceful deer running across it. That's where it really is a wonderful sight," says Jennifer. The walls, covered with wooden clapboards, reflect traditional Scottish architecture. "The house, clad in larch, gives scope for creative expression," says Jen. She chose a rich blue-black as the main color, and painted the windows in contrasting white. It turned out very impressive!French doors from the living room lead out tospacious terrace. Thanks to them, the main room is filled with light all day long. "This additional glazing gives the rooms brightness and liveliness," notes the happy owner. The hallway has a convenient storage area, which includes shelves, small cabinets in the bench and clothes hooks.I would like the environment to be beautiful.matched the exterior “I wanted the furnishings to match the exterior, which is done in the best local traditions. That’s why I chose a soft cream for the walls and a light sofa to match,” Jen shares with us.In the corner of the living room, we installed corner shelves that perfectly serve as a display podium and at the same time do not take up much free space. The wooden floor is painted in an appetizing colorcreme brulee, which further enhances the light's saturation effect. "We typically sell homes with plain plank floors so that new homeowners can choose the color they want," Jennifer says. The ribbed panels on the walls give them individuality and add coziness and warmth to the overall atmosphere.A small table placed by the window allows you to dine while enjoying the wonderful view. Roman white curtains with blue stripes keep the kitchen in the general marine style. The wall above the sink was left free to visually unload the small space.Hope chose white kitchen appliances with a painted design:"When I first set my eyes on this set, I knew it would look perfect in my blue kitchen, so I chose the Blue Ribbon set from Dulux Heritage."Then she told about the bedroom:"Here I chose a deeper, richer shade of blue. In the bedside area, I came up with functional cabinets that combine with night tables that our carpenter made to order. Despite their compact appearance, they have room for all my many clothes."White walls with blue accents create a feeling of freshness and morning breeze. The compact bedroom also has room forwonderful French doors through which you can admire the picturesque countryside. And in the corner, a capacious and very miniature chest of drawers is modestly nestled. Our guests are shocked by such spaciousness of the Bathroomlight and airy. “Our guests are shocked by how spacious it is. They can’t believe that such a small house has room for a large shower room,” says the owner of the apartment. There is a large built-in wardrobe in the hallway.where all the cleaning supplies are stored. “When you live in a small house, you can’t afford unnecessary things, because they clutter up the free space,” Jennifer shares her life observations with us.
