A small cozy house on the river bank in the stateOregon This cozy little home in north Portland, surrounded by beautiful nature, is part of its surroundings. Moss and ferns have replaced crumbling shingles to keep the weather out and the heat in. And it’s easy to see why designer Jessica Helgerson and her family love it so much. “In the winter, we have to open the windows because the furnace works too well sometimes,” Helgerson says. White oak floors and a large walnut table add warmth to the crisp white walls and cabinets. A wood stove is all that’s needed to heat the tiny home.The combination of brown and white colors makeskitchen cozier The open-plan room is simply stunning. It combines the kitchen, dining room and living room. Together with her husband, Jessica designed built-in sofas with drawers.A walnut staircase leads directly to the matrimonialbedroom “We believe that if something is not beautiful and does not bring any benefit, then we do not need it,” says the owner. The bedroom, located under the roof, forces you to think twice about decisions about the placement of certain items.An unusual and practical solution for a small house. The children's room furnishings include a pull-out wardrobe and a full-size sleeping area for guests (not shown in the photo).The children's bedroom looks neat and laconicHelgerson purchased the soaking tub from a friend's website, and her husband made the wooden supports. The designer agrees that sharing a tub with three other people can be difficult, but the pros far outweigh the cons.It is not easy to choose a bathtub that suits such a“It’s not perfect,” Jessica says. “The toilet leaks from frequent use, and the time is getting closer when our kids won’t be able to share a bedroom. But despite all this, we live happily.”The bathroom is bare bones The house is quite capable of accommodating numerous family friends. Helgerson recently celebrated her son's birthday with her husband and daughter.Efficient layout allows for placementJessica, who spent her childhood moving between the United States and France, drew inspiration from her grandparents' small farm to create her own garden and greenhouse.The family grows most of their own vegetables.Jessica hopes that her children will live in this house in the future.
