The interior of a small bedroom

Small bedroom furnishing: tips and ideas

Furnishing a small bedroom requiresMaking informed decisions – and we’re talking about a bedroom that’s barely bigger than a bed, and not a very spacious one at that – can be a real challenge, especially when the goal is to create a functional yet stylish interior. Fortunately, there are plenty of inspiring examples, and we’re going to introduce you to one of them. We’re talking about the bedroom that blogger Lisa Tilse designed for her teenage daughter Roxy. Here's what she writes on her We Are pageScout: "The room is really tiny! It's 2m x 2.7m, which is barely enough to fit a double bed along the short side. The bed takes up more than half the space! Roxy wanted a comfortable sanctuary that would look cool but not feel too teeny. She asked for a big bed so she could hang out with her girlfriends and just hang out."Lisa purchased a TARVA bed from and assembled itit, taking the headboard from another model, MANDAL. It was pre-cut to fit the dimensions of the room and fixed to the wall, along the long side of the bed. This headboard looks like a slatted panel and is ideal for hanging various small items. The ceiling height in the room is 3.3 m, andLisa decided that the vertical space needed to be broken up to balance the interior. She painted the walls in two colors - turquoise and soft pink, complementing the upper half with a simple pattern of rings with fuzzy outlines. A couple of plant pots hang from the ceiling, visually connecting the walls and ceiling with the rest of the room. The girl is an avid reader, so the questionthe need for bookshelves was never even discussed. Vertical shelving is a great solution for compact interiors: it holds a lot and takes up little space. Our heroine chose the FJALKINGE model from Ikea, as it fit perfectly into the narrow partition to the right of the French door. Lisa believes that open shelving is better suited for small rooms, because solid cabinets clutter up the space and make it heavier. In general, it was decided to get rid of the cabinets altogether.refused, as they would definitely reduce the area of the room. Lisa preferred to use the free space under the bed, where VARDO boxes from Ikea fit perfectly.Since the bed is the most visiblebedroom furnishings, the choice of bed linen should be given special attention. In this case, preference was given to plain textiles with a discreet pattern. The real decoration of the bed and interior is a bedspread with tassels from the Australian brand Kip & Co. A funny panel with bananas was purchased from the same manufacturer, which hangs above the non-existent headboard.

Here are some tips from Liza Tils:

1 Use the space around you effectivelybed and under it. Try not to take up free space on the floor. Pay attention to various hanging structures: shelves, slatted panels, rails. 2 Give preference to high but narrow shelving units. This way you can use vertical space and provide storage space. 3 Use wall decor as a tool for manipulating the perception of space. You can draw attention to a certain area, make the room visually wider or higher. 4 Pay attention to the decoration of the bed. If it takes up most of the room, the quality and design of the bed linen are of great importance. Choose bright textiles that will not let the interior look sloppy.
