Preparatory work
Before you start painting, you should prepare the necessary tools and materials. From the tools you need:
- table or construction goats;
- Sander;
- putty knife;
- paint brushes;
- sandpaper;
- screwdriver;
- a hammer;
- nails.
The materials will have to be prepared:
- paint (preferably oil);
- a primer;
- mastic.
Before you start painting the door, it is necessaryremove from the hinges. It's easy to do one, but if the canvas is heavy, it's better to ask someone to help. After dismantling the door from it, remove the accessories, and put it horizontally on a table or goats. For convenience, two supports can be used.
The process of painting the door leaf

The cleaning process should be carried out carefully, because if you do not remove the old paint completely, it will ruin the appearance of the painted fabric, and may also cause the new coating to peel off. The chips that appear during the grinding of the door leaf must be sealed with mastic. The material is applied to the defective area of the surface, after which these places are ground with a sandpaper. After cleaning the door, its surface should be treated with a primer. This is to ensure that the dye composition is not absorbed very quickly and its costs were not significant. The painting procedure itself should begin with the largest surfaces of the door leaf. After them, ribs and fasteners are painted. As the paint layer is applied, the door must be inspected carefully. If one layer is not enough, the surface can be covered with a second one. However, you only need to do this after grinding the first one. Another way to paint the door leaf is based on the use of a tinting compound, which is a special impregnation for wooden surfaces. Such a paint can be purchased at any specialized outlet. When painting the door with a toning compound, it is also necessary to dismantle the door, remove the accessories from it and clean it of the old paint. The tinting compound is applied and rubbed on a wooden surface using a special sponge. After the application of the primary layer, a strongly pressed sponge must be carried along the wood fibers. Such movements should be performed for 2 minutes. Whichever way the door is painted, it will be transformed and will be no worse than the new one. And this is a saving of money, and a well-kept interior.
