Promotion in the network for designers: how to advertise yourself

January 17th at Quantum Studio at Krasny OktyabrThere will be two lectures on this topic - at 14:00 and at 19:00. That is why Olga Kosyreva has assembled a team of professionals who will teach everyone the basics of online promotion. And we asked her how she came up with this idea. Olga Kosyreva, the founder and head of the design lecture hall, former editor of Vogue, AD, Interni, Object, who worked in the specialized press for a total of 18 years, decided to share her experience in a lecture "How a designer/architect should work with mass media". The course included lectures by other professionals: editor-in-chief of Elle Decoration Russia magazine Alexey Dorozhkin, the best Russian interior photographer Sergey Ananyev, AD stylists Natasha Obukhova and Yulia Chebotar, as well as Internet marketer Valeria Efanova, who specializes in working with companies in the field of art, design, and book publishing. Registration and payment are available on the website designlectures.ru/courses. Olga Kosyreva herself told us more about the course.— The first question, of course, is whyand where does such a team come from? — I have known almost all of these colleagues of mine for many years. Yulia Chebotar started at the dawn of interior design magazines in Russia — at the Mezzanine magazine, she worked as a decorator in Albina Nazimova’s bureau. We met at AD magazine 15 years ago. Natasha Obukhova is a natural-born decorator, an artist with a good vision, we were also introduced to her by interior design magazines. Sergey Ananyev is undoubtedly the most sought-after photographer who shoots interiors — his shoots are scheduled six months in advance. There is no need to talk about Alexey Dorozhkin: he heads the most successful, in my opinion, interior design magazine in Russia. That is, they are a team of super professionals. And I know for sure that they have something to share with designers. And designers need this information. — How did the idea of such a lecture series come about? — As always — almost by accident. Designer Evgeniya Ignatova organized her training course on how a designer can run a business, and suggested that I give one lecture on designers' cooperation with magazines. Then it turned into two lectures, then it turned out that designers have a lot of questions and do not understand basic things.— Which ones, for example?— For example, that you can publish not only projects. Of course, it is ideal if you have an interesting project, and you offer it to a magazine or a specialized portal, and they happily publish it - and now you are collecting likes. But what if there is no such project or they do not allow you to film it? Sit and wait for the weather to change? Of course not. Magazines always need heroes, comments, advice, insider information. So if you give it and create it, if you understand what information journalists lack, then you can get a lot of interesting things for yourself. In general, I often see that people proceed exclusively from their own interests, and do not think about what others need. Although it is much more effective to make your activities useful for others with benefit for yourself. — Can you give any recommendations to those who want to listen to your course or your lecture, but are hesitant? — I can say that even those who think they know everything and have been through it many times will discover a lot of new and useful things. One of my colleagues, who has worked for 20 years in various publications, told me after the lecture that she did not expect anything new, but was pleasantly surprised by some things. I myself, sitting at the lecture of Yulia Chebotar and Natasha Obukhova in Krasnodar, was eager to take notes many times - the information was so well presented and so necessary. You will definitely not read it anywhere on the Internet - I guarantee it. All our speakers are practitioners, they have found out and tested what they are talking about from their own experience. And I myself will go to Valeria Efanova's lecture with a notepad - because a lot has been said and written in the field of Internet marketing and promotion in social networks, but none of the specialists focused on the activities of designers and architects. Even designers with very popular blogs make a lot of mistakes! I immediately want to invite them and tell them what a personal brand is and how not to run accounts on Instagram. Valeria has considered all of this and is ready to share both this information and her professional developments.
