Is it worth spending precious square meters onplacing intricate furniture and countless decorative items in conditions of space shortage? Many will agree that it would be more correct to opt for a simple design, clean and laconic. But these qualities are fully inherent in the Scandinavian style, which formed the basis for the design of a small apartment in the center of Stockholm. Vanilla-colored flooring sets the tone for the color palette of the entire interior. Its beige, silver and pinkish components fill the atmosphere with calm and sophistication. An unexpected combination of textures and a combination of diverse lamps provide expressiveness and sophisticated bohemianism of the decor. To create the necessary depth of the image of this one-room apartment, the designers decided to fill its space with elements that are heterogeneous in style, shape and texture. A soft sofa with neutral upholstery is adjacent to a mirrored table in the form of an elongated cylinder, and laconic floor lamps in the style of the 70s seem to bow before the regal beauty of a pendant lamp radiating the shine of crystal. The feeling of contrast and heterogeneity is enhanced by a long-pile carpet in the center of the room and bright posters of the author's work on the walls. Despite the shortage of square meters, the authors of the project firmly decided not to overload the interior with utilitarian objects. The entire width of the wall opposite the sofa is occupied by a low cabinet, which is more likely to display stylish decorative elements - vases, candlesticks, flower pots - than for storing things. Kitchen, bathroom and dining area, arranged in the hallway, decorated in a modern style, expressed in this case by an abundance of white and glossy surfaces, laconic furnishings and graphic decor. The secret to the discrepancy between the actual area of the apartment and the visual perception of its dimensions lies in the use of a light palette and the correct placement of expressive accents. This interior is a clear proofthat spatial and financial limitations naturally stimulate the imagination of owners and designers. Under these conditions, each project can become a true masterpiece of design art.
