Renowned British architect David Adjayeannounced the approaching completion of the process of creating a unique building in the center of Beirut. Instead of unattractive warehouses in the center of the capital of Lebanon, a new building will soon open its doors to visitors, under the roof of which there will be branded clothing stores, exhibition pavilions and an art gallery. The building was designed by architect DavidAdjaye, who described the idea of his design as “the juxtaposition of art and shopping.” The building’s form is simple blocks that touch at their edges in an unusual way. On one side is a retail space, on the other a gallery. The structure looks massive and at the same time unusually airy and flexible. The building cost $100 million to construct. The total area of the premises is 17,600 square meters, of which 3,700 are exhibition spaces.
