Small apartments

Fantastic design of a small apartment in retro style.

We continue our review of amazing architecturaland design objects found all over the world. This time we will meet the great master Eric Carlson, who has developed a project with a luxurious design. It combines classic and modern features. It was completed in 2012 in Riga, the capital of Latvia. is located in a building dating back to the 19th century, which has not lost its historical image. There, retro flashes and elements of modern prosperous life are intertwined in an amazing assortment. In this small space, one of the important aspects is the stable feeling of spaciousness, which is so successfully optimized with the maximum capacity and spaciousness of the room. In the living room, we see wooden floors and classic furniture, as well as a luxurious chandelier in the Gothic style. Contrast is actively emphasized everywhere here: a row of photos of retro sports cars aligned along the wall and a bright carpet on the floor, a spot of a “tanned” leather armchair and a trendy gray sofa. Kitchen fronts seem to have a certainfuturistic nature. They are predominantly in gray tones, covered in silver in places, with splashes of red here and there (kitchen faucet, cabinet, kettle, dishes). The semicircular chandelier above the table resembles a UFO, which seems to regulate its landing. The combination of gray, silver and red tones defines a very artistic approach to the kitchen design. Although it seems minimalistic, such shades are visually stimulating. continues in the same color scheme. The walls, covered with light gray tiles, contrast with the dark gray on the floor. An unusual element seems to be a completely transparent shower cabin, like a glass cube inscribed in the interior of the bathroom. This cold "grayness" is diluted with bright strokes by red shelves, towels, and a strip of abstract colored mosaics. To maintain the classic features, the vanity unit and stands above it were created from a stunning dark wood.Amazing design taste allowedto maintain in this apartment both the devotion to historical values, such as the Gothic and retro style of the 60s, and to pay tribute to the future, using modern materials and cultures. Isn't it an exquisite combination? Write your opinion in the comments!
