"Glass" interior design of a small apartment

In today's conversation we would like to draw your attention toattention of visitors to one unique design work. Artem Babayants, an experienced architect, took a rather unusual approach to the issue of redevelopment in the residential complex "Zapadnoye Kuntsevo". He is the founder of the Art Workshop company. After graduating from the university in Belgorod, he worked in Moscow for some time. He opened his own enterprise in 2011. The company regularly takes part in various competitions. Together with the bureau of A. Fedorova, in 2012 it took 2nd place with the project of the Club House. The described housing is located in the Moscow region. Its area is slightly less than 40 square meters. First, all the partitions were demolished, and then, instead of breaking up the resulting space, it was left open. Thanks to the minimalist style with a limited amount of furniture, the room turned out to be quite light and cozy. The room has only the most necessary furnishings, there are practically no decorative elements. But such a design does not affect the quality of life. A fenced-off area for the bedroom was created from glass and curtained with curtains.

Customers

Two young people - a guy and a girl. Their newly acquired apartment in the Moscow region required the attention of a designer, which was the reason to contact Artem Babayants' company.

Remodeling

During the work, all the walls had to be demolished, even though the house is a new building. The measure was forced, the customer's wishes left no choice.

Customers' wishes

The main requirement was to organizebedrooms: it was necessary to separate it and leave a place for receiving guests. The hallway is quite spacious, from it you can get to any part of the apartment: the kitchen, the guest area, the bathroom. In addition to everything else, there is a fairly large closet in the hallway. The fact that the bedroom does not have its own window is more than compensated for by the glass partition. Enough light comes through it.

Shine

Almost all the lighting is built into the plaster panels. The chandelier is hung only above the table to highlight the dining area.

Colour

When decorating the room, the artists played a little withcontrasts. Thus, with the predominant white color, certain details were highlighted with dark elements. In some places, marble finishing was added to create volume. Marble was also used to highlight the space under the TV and the work area of the kitchen.

Furniture

The specialists chose a sofa and bed from B&B, a table from Poliform, and Vitra provided the room with chairs.

Style

As already mentioned, briefly characterizethe overall design of the apartment can be described as cozy minimalism. A fairly light room, without unnecessary objects, with relatively small dimensions it turned out to be quite spacious.

Project Author's Tips

1.Minimalism should not be understood as the absence of contrasts and color schemes in rooms. Often, it is the play of color and certain tones that can be emphasized when developing an interior. 2. Bright walls, with a generally calm background, look very original. 3. It should be remembered that when choosing a minimalist interior, it is desirable, and even necessary, to refuse patterns and ornaments.
