Drones, or quadcopters, have long since becomefrom an unnecessary toy into a truly important attribute of modern life. With their help, they deliver food and postal parcels, film programs and football matches, take amazing photos and even walk dogs. Miniature helicopters are capable of many things, but no one has yet taken the trouble to build a home for them. Architects Yifeng Zhao, Hadeel Ayed Mohammad and Chengda Zh took up the matter and presented a very interesting concept. They called their idea "The Hive".And this is actually a home for drones — a huge skyscraper that looks like a digital fortress. Quadcopters constantly scurry back and forth, like bees in their hive. Personal and commercial drones can easily dock to any point on the outer surface and stay there, like in a parking lot. Presumably, this idea will be of interest to such large companies as Walmart, DHL, Amazon and others. The skyscraper is planned to be built in Manhattan, near Central Park, which will make the architectural appearance of this area as modern and functional as possible. Roomble's opinion: — And we, in turn, are very interested in how this project will function. Due to a low battery charge, the drone may not fly to the very top of the building, but fall on the heads of unsuspecting citizens. How much scrap metal will lie near this tower? Although the Hive still exists only as a concept, which may be implemented in 5-10 years (or never at all). By that time, drones should also increase their power reserve and flight duration.
