The process of laying parquet own hands
Anyone can handle laying parquet. Laying methods:
- floating laying;
- laying with the use of special parquet glue.
Stages of parquet laying.There is another installation option, when the planks are additionally fastened with nails. This method is rarely used, there is no expediency in it. Floating installation consists of joining the planks together with a tongue and groove joint. This is the simplest method, anyone can handle it. The method is called floating because the parquet is not connected to the base, a single covering is located above it. This allows you to properly control temperature and humidity changes. The floor does not warp, cracks and gaps do not appear on the surface, there is no creaking. During installation, it is necessary to retreat from the walls about 1 cm - this will be a temperature gap. You should start laying on a layer of vapor barrier membrane, which is laid on a leveled base. Then you should lay a layer of sound insulation, for which cork is an excellent choice. Its porous structure and unique properties allow you to give the flooring the necessary characteristics. The floating covering is of high quality, if necessary, it can be easily repaired, i.e. replace damaged planks. Glue installation of parquet is quite complicated, requiring attention and labor. To perform the work you will need:
- parquet boards of the selected type;
- special parquet glue;
- Toothed metal spatula;
- An electric drill with a nozzle is a construction mixer for kneading mixtures.
Parquet board laying diagram.Before starting work, the base must be leveled, then covered with a layer of primer to ensure excellent adhesion of the glue and the base. The primer is selected depending on whether the floor is concrete or wooden. Work should only begin at room temperature, the humidity level should be normal. After the primer has dried, glue is applied to the base in small areas, since the mixture will become unsuitable for use after 20 minutes. The planks are attached not only with glue, but also with a locking connection. This method of laying is the most durable. You should move from the far corner to the front door. After the parquet is laid, the floor surface must be sanded, for which special grinding machines with various attachments are used. The first scraping is done using coarse sandpaper, then it is necessary to process hard-to-reach places and corners with an angle machine. The last scraping is done using fine sandpaper. It allows you to give the floor smoothness. Return to the table of contents</a>

Finish: tinting and varnishing of the surface
Once the floor is sanded, you can beginto its tinting and varnishing. The surface is tinted first. Before this, the floor should be thoroughly vacuumed. There are various mixtures on sale today for tinting, the shade is selected depending on the effect you want to achieve. The parquet can be only slightly darkened or emphasize the natural structure of the board. The mixtures are applied very simply. This can be one or more layers. It all depends on what the tinting is used for. After application, the mixture must dry completely, after which you can proceed to the final finishing, i.e. varnishing the parquet. Before using the varnish, the floor must be vacuumed again, since even the smallest traces of dust will negatively affect the quality. A glossy composition looks beautiful, but you can also use semi-matte, matte varnishes. Brushes or rollers are used for application. Before starting preparation, you need to pay attention to the instructions provided by the manufacturer, they are on the packaging. The varnish is applied in 3 layers, each of which must dry completely. Less layers should not be done. If there are more of them, the coating will acquire a more pronounced structure and depth. Drying time is about a day for each layer. Parquet is a stylish and elegant coating that can completely transform any room. The parquet itself can be different, but it is quite possible to lay it yourself, observing the stages of laying.
