Autumn is getting closer and closer, and with it, rain and cold weather. It would seem that all nature is freezing and preparing for winter, but in the world of design, not everything is so clear. Quite the opposite: with the arrival of leaf fall, the season of various exhibitions begins all over the world. We will consider six of the most anticipated of them, dedicated to home improvement and decoration.
1. Maison&Objet
Date: September 5–9.A huge Parisian exhibition that needs no introduction. Visiting it is considered an important event for designers from all over the world. It is held twice a year. In September, you can see the autumn-winter collections, demonstrating furniture, textiles and home accessories. Here you can find everything: lamps and candles, cutlery and dishes, vases and figurines, garlands and New Year's decorations, and much more. For 19 years, Maison&Objet has been delighting visitors with exquisite home items. It is here that the general pace of the industry is set and new trends are created.
2. 100% Design London
Date: September 17–20.This largest British exhibition, held at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre, includes four areas: lighting, materials, innovation, and interior design. It is impossible to see the huge number of exhibits presented here in one day. This autumn, Philippe Starck, a legendary figure and one of the most influential representatives of the international design industry, will be present at the opening of the exhibition with his new Flexible Architecture collection. The new British star Douglas Pulman, winner of the prestigious 100% Design competition in the New Designers category, will also be here. This student from the University of Plymouth has developed an innovative method of joining furniture without screws, nails or glue.
3. iSaloni WorldWide Moscow
Date: October 15–18.If you don't have the time or opportunity to travel abroad, no problem. For nine years in a row, Moscow has been hosting an exhibition of home and office interior items at Crocus Expo. Here you will not only meet leading designers, official dealers, and representatives of the press, but also be able to participate in master classes from renowned architects and see limited collections. The vast majority of participants are Italian companies, but there are also representatives from Belgium, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Works by young talents from Russia are also on display and invariably arouse interest. Last year, 42,818 furniture industry specialists and 402 journalists attended the exhibition. Being the largest exposition in the CIS, iSaloni WorldWide Moscow is becoming more and more popular every year.
4. Decorex International
Date: September 21–24.London again and the interior design exhibition. This event has been held for 35 years, and every year it gives inspiration to many architects, designers and planners. Ideas for home and hotel decoration, furniture, equipment, fabrics and accessories - you will find it all here.
5.IFA
Date: September 5–10.This is not your typical design exhibition. This Berlin exhibition introduces the latest developments in household appliances, radio electronics, information and communication technologies that can be used in the home. Since 1924, the boldest and most interesting prototypes of technology have been shown here, many of which have subsequently been successfully implemented in everyday life.
6. Cersai
Date: September 22–26.Bologna, Italy. The largest event in the world of ceramic tiles is held here. New options for using familiar things, recommendations from experts and functional developments will be useful for everyone who is engaged in or even just interested in design.
