Making a sofa seat.It is proposed to make a fairly simple wooden skeleton of a sofa with your own hands according to the sizes corresponding to a standard product, the dimensions of which are: length - 1.9 m, back height - 0.8 m, seat height (excluding soft cushions) - up to 0.3 m. Direct production of the sofa frame begins with sawing out its base. This is done according to the drawing (ready-made template) from a sheet of plywood. For this purpose, you can also use furniture boards that are left over from furniture that has already been used. It is most convenient to saw out the basic frame element with an electric jigsaw. Moreover, if the structure as a result of all measurements turns out to be quite large, it is recommended to divide the frame base into several parts, which will be processed separately. However, all of them, without exception, must be cut and processed in such a way that when docked during assembly, they are connected without the slightest problem. The finished frame base is a rectangular piece of thick, carefully sanded furniture plywood. Its length and width are determined by the given project. If the manufacturer wants to sheathe not only the top but also the bottom of the frame box, then two such identical plywood rectangles must be made. The next stage in the process of making the frame is cutting horizontal partitions and vertical posts and assembling them into a frame box. The specified structural elements should be cut from beams in accordance with the dimensions recorded in the drawing and exactly corresponding to the dimensions of the plywood base prepared in advance. For a reliable connection of the mating parts, notches are cut at their ends, which form a tongue-and-groove coupling system.

After the paint and varnish coatings have completely dried, the finished partitions and racks are connected to each other according to the developed scheme. For additional strength and stability, the frame components are fastened with metal corners using a screwdriver. A plywood sheet-base is placed on the box prepared in this way. It is securely attached to the rectangular frame using special wood glue or self-tapping screws. All fasteners must be recessed into the thickness of the plywood to avoid snagging and tearing of the fabric of the soft cushions in the future. The next step is to make the backrest for the sofa. It should be noted that the dimensions of this structural element must be fully commensurate with the dimensions of the sofa base. And the backrest is mounted in the same way as the rest of the frame, unless, of course, collapsible (folding) furniture is assumed.
