Most often, a non-standard layout is a desirecustomer, but sometimes it is dictated by external circumstances. For example, the complex layout of this apartment was determined by the unusual shape of the building’s facades. In this article, we will tell you how interior designer Stepan Bugayev got out of such a difficult situation. The owners of the apartment are a young couple with two children. The family leads an active lifestyle: they are engaged in creativity and sports, and often receive guests. The family also has a common favorite — a cat. The customers turned to interior designer Stepan Bugayev with a request to create a comfortable and functional interior that would match their lifestyle and be truly cozy. Layout Features The main feature of this apartment is the non-standard shape of the facades. It was the complex curve of the external walls that influenced the layout of the apartment. Figuring out how to properly divide the space into zones and make it functional and convenient was the most difficult thing. However, the studio’s designers succeeded, and as a result, a lot of space was freed up in the apartment thanks to the redevelopment. The designers moved the bedroom and children's room intoseparate rooms, reorganizing them and making them visually more spacious. The kitchen, living room and dining room were combined into an open space by partially dismantling the partitions, turning it into a cozy, but stylish common area for shared relaxation.Stepan Bugaev, interior designer:— The most labor-intensive task was the layout of the children's room: the peculiarity of the building's design is that the outer side forms a bend, which is why the room has sharp corners. Kitchen-dining room + living room The public space turned out to be laconic, but at the same time very elegant: strict curtains in the Art Deco style echo the malachite-colored armchair and act as an accent on the overall neutral background. Functionally, the room is divided into three zones: a kitchen-dining room, a recreation area, and a work area. The recreation area is separated from the corridor by a partition,in which niches with decor are built in on both sides, and a projector is fixed at the top. The central place in the composition of the partition is occupied by a poster by the Italian artist Agnes Cecile. The work area does not deviate from the overall concept:It uses the same finishing materials and color scheme. The built-in table and shelf continue the idea of a non-standard space with their geometry and enhance the feeling of a complex layout. The Ulivi work chair is consistent with the overall style of the interior and therefore does not seem office-like or out of place in a home environment.Bedroom The master bedroom is all aboutcomfortable rest: soft textiles, discreet decor, comfortable and custom-made in Italy furniture. The bed area is emphasized by symmetrical lamps. The color scheme also plays an important role: together with the wooden textures of the furniture, the warm olive shade on the walls and the refreshing white color create a harmonious composition. Since the owners often work from home,With the help of a supporting pylon, the bedroom was divided into two parts and another work space was allocated in it - by the window. The work area is done in a more strict white and gray range, and the interior is united by a common wood texture for both parts of the room. Children's room Plan the room alwaysdifficult: you need to organize a personal space for each, create two separate worlds in one room and at the same time not lose the overall harmony. In this project, the designers had to create a nursery for two brothers with a small age difference, and together with the owner, it was decided to work primarily with color. We took a palette of three colors as a basis:blue for the older one, green for the younger one and white as a neutral base. White is used mainly in the trim, and blue and green in the furniture and decor. Functionally, the room is divided into three zones:for rest, for study and for games. The rest area, the smallest, is represented by a bunk bed, by the windows there is a "study" area with a table and chairs and a play area with magnetic boards. For storage, the designers chose a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and hanging shelves, on which it is convenient to store books. Materials and colors in the interior of the apartmentThe furniture is dominated by classic shapes, enriched by color contrasts. The main connecting element of the interior is the wooden textures on the floor, walls and furniture. This is what makes the rather minimalistic interior cozy. Another motif of the entire design was the green color. By playing with its shades in different ways in the rooms (malachite and emerald in the living room, olive in the bedroom, sea-green in the nursery), the designers were able to give each zone an individual character and at the same time put the entire interior together into a single whole. Advice from interior designer Stepan Bugaev:
- Even if you are attracted aggressive in form andnature of furniture, you can always bring a note of coziness and warmth into the room by using wooden panels, parquet or deck board. In addition, because of the inherent nobility and refinement, this decision will always look good in almost all styles.
- Do not forget that shades of the same color, correctly entered into the interior in the form of furniture or decorations, can not only refresh, but also combine the entire interior.
- Particular attention should be paid to recreation areas,in particular the bedroom. In our project, it is no coincidence that this room is decorated in a rather neutral solution. Natural colors of furniture and floor coverings and subdued soft lighting create a harmonious and calm atmosphere, completely conducive to relaxation.
