Elling: a weekend house

This house is on Lake Joseph, not far fromNew York, represents the perfect escape from the city. The owners, big fans of water recreation, built this house specifically for weekends. From the ground, it looks like an ordinary house that for some reason moved from the shore and now stands on the water. But inside, it has its own secrets.Inside the house there is a hangar for storing and repairing boats, which “enter” it directly from the lake through lifting doors.

Since the owners are often here, there is something in the houseeverything you need for a comfortable stay: a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room with a huge window, a comfortable sofa and armchairs, as well as a telescope for observing the lake. For outdoor relaxation there is a veranda withcomfortable sun loungers. It is pleasant to walk barefoot on the wooden flooring, warmed by the sun. And the combination of colors of the materials from which the house is made pleases the eye no less than the surrounding landscape. In order for this house to be built, the design had toto comply with a huge number of standards and go through more than one approval in the construction department (which takes from 2 to 12 months). The house stands on the border of land and water as if it had always been there. It itself looks like a yacht that is about to leave to furrow the waters of the lake. The trees that have been growing on the shore for many years were not damaged during the construction of the house. The architects managed to fit it into the landscape as if it had always been there. http://www.adventure-journal.com/2014/02/weekend-cabin-lake-joseph-boathouse-new-york/
