Modern apartments have more comfortablelayout than before. It consists of spacious rooms, large kitchens and wide corridors. When moving into a new house, the owners are faced with the choice of how to design a large room. Having got used to the small footage of old apartments, it is quite difficult to do this.
There is no need to clutter the living room with too muchamount of furniture. It should be light and spacious. Today, there are several fashionable interior styles that will successfully fit into spacious rooms. They are especially relevant for the living room, which should simultaneously serve as a recreation room for the whole family and for receiving guests. Comfort, combined with sophistication and modern trends, will create an unforgettable image for the entire apartment.
Basic principles of modern design
When planning to design a living room ina truly modern style, a person must completely break the stereotypes that have been established over the past time. The choice of oriental or Japanese style for interior design

The use of a color scheme in orange or red tones will make the interior exotic and unique. Floor coverings should be decorated with carpets or fur. The furniture is selected low, with upholstery made of natural fabric. This is an ideal solution for spacious rooms.The design of the living room in the minimalist style is carried out using contrasts. Most often, the main color of the decoration is white, actively complemented by gray, blue, red, black, brown or yellow tones.
Furniture and other elements of the living room in styleHi-tech should have a cubic shape and sharp angles. Furniture should be selected with acute angles, devoid of ornaments, forging and other decorations. When choosing a sofa and armchairs, special attention should be paid to their shape: cubic or rectangular upholstered furniture with hard armrests and rectangular pillows is welcome here. A small coffee table located in the center of the living room should be glossy or glass. It is possible to use small hidden shelves that do not clutter the space. Hi-tech style looks especially impressive in the design of a spacious room. The main thing here is to use the maximum number of modern devices and equipment. Mandatory attributes should be considered a modern good quality TV and other electronic equipment. When creating hi-tech, the color base of the finish should be gray and white. Accents are created by bright accessories of red, orange, green or black. It is desirable that all the colors used have a metallic sheen. If there is a need to push apart the walls of the room, it is permissible to use a large number of mirror surfaces.

Room decoration in accordance with other fashion trends
Today, the concept is widespread,as a modern design. It does not refer to any specific style, but is based on the use of all fashion trends. The range of techniques that can be used in interior design in this case is huge (Fig. 3). These can be multi-level ceilings with original lighting, and the use of unusual decor and lambrequins on the curtains. The use of modern and unusual furniture greatly decorates the design of the living room. At the same time, contrasting sets look good. For example, a wall and a dark-colored TV area will harmonize with the dark armrests of a pearl-white sofa and armchairs. In a large living room, you can safely use darker tones of decoration if the window opening is able to transmit enough sunlight to illuminate it. The illusion of wealth will be created by natural materials: marble floor tiles, niches finished with wood panels, and a carpet of natural tones. Plant accessories will fit well into such a living room design - live indoor plants, natural or artificial dried flowers and natural textiles in warm natural tones. If we talk about how a fashionable design of a 19 sq.m. living room should look, then it is necessary to note the main thing - any modern style encourages the ability to combine the incompatible and the use of original innovative solutions.
