Furniture on the 3d printer: a new designer chair

I wonder if famous architects would take up the matterdesigning furniture, what would come of it? Russian designers Anna Strupinskaya and Alexey Ivashkevich tried to find the answer. They decided to take the tower on Shabolovka, built in 1920 by Vladimir Shukhov, and its famous hyperboloid mesh structure, which is capable of withstanding enormous loads, as a basis for their work. As a result, Anna and Alexey got , which consists of 24 structural elements. All connections are printed on , and the chair itselfcan withstand a load of up to 300 kilograms and can be assembled/disassembled manually an unlimited number of times. The designers named their creation in honor of their main inspiration — the Shukhov chair. And it became only the first object in a whole series of furniture based on architectural motifs, which Anna and Alexey conceived. We are waiting for the continuation!
