What do we want from windows? So that they don’t let in the cold, noise and close easily. And we hardly pay attention to them in the interior. But it turns out that in the future, windows are destined to play a more serious role. And we will definitely like this future. On February 17, the largest window manufacturing factory, REHAU, held an architectural breakfast at the Karlson restaurant. The future of windows and their new functions were on the agenda. The discussion was organized in order to get a view from each interested party, and therefore representatives of different companies and industries took part in it. The main experts in the world of windows were representatives of the companies: from AGC — Sergey Kasyan, from Roto — Nelly Lebedeva and Alena Borisova, from REHAU — the head of the Window Technologies and Translucent Structures department, Pavel Ivanenko, and the executive director of sales and marketing, Andrey Beloedov. The three companies recently united into an alliance to work more productively and respond faster to market demands. Therefore, designers, architects and representatives of the construction industry were guests of the breakfast. Their opinions on modern windows were expressed by the head of the architectural bureau WALL Ruben Arakelyan, leading designer of the Union of Designers of Moscow and member of the expert council on eco-sustainable architecture at the Union of Architects of Russia Evgeny Vilenkin, as well as architects and designers Elena Chirkova, Irina Krivtsova, Vlada Nevzorova, Evgeny Pozharsky and Evgeniya Krivorog. It turned out that one of the most relevant topics for consumers now is windows that could respond to wind, heat and light and convert them into energy. The issue of ecology and the problem of recycling old windows during the process of replacing them with new ones were separately touched upon. Irina Krivtsova raised an interesting decorating topic, wishing for a wider choice of color palette and fittings for windows. Representatives of the "big three" delved into each issue with interest, and we hope that the idea of architectural breakfasts will prove fruitful and productive.
