Transform the interior and completely change itatmosphere can be created even with minor changes. How to add a touch of modernity to a classic? What will add coziness and romance to a space? Let's look at a real example. Two generations live in this spacious house: a goal-oriented businesswoman with her husband, who works in the civil service, and their adult daughter, who is developing her own small textile company. The family has an apartment in an elite area of Moscow, and a country house on Nikolina Gora - this is the place where you can go for peace and quiet, relax and unwind. One day, the daughter wanted to transform the interior, make it more modern. And despite the fact that the older generation did not want to change anything in their classic house, they still went to meet their child. And the architect Tatyana Morozova helped them come to a common denominator. Tatyana Morozova, architect Graduated from MArchI. Heads the architectural bureau ARCHdesign. She is a co-founder, art director and teacher at the newly created creative platform “Feeling of Home” (thefeelingofmyhouse.ru). Customers' wishes
The house was built by the parents quite a long time ago.As you can see from the photo, they are convinced lovers of the classics: arches, ceiling cornices, checkered floors, sofas. Before the renovation, it was all very standard: light beige walls, translucent curtains, classic chandeliers with lampshades. The wishes came from the daughter - she wanted to liven up the interior, bring in some emotions, make the space modern. Since the parents were happy with everything, and the daughter wanted something modern, a compromise was needed. Tatyana Morozova, architect: - It was not possible to interfere much - the house is residential and the customers did not plan to move out of there during the renovation, plus it was necessary to satisfy the wishes of all family members with different priorities. In the end, we decided to do a light restyling of the main rooms with the help of color, textiles and modern art. Certainly modern. In the end, if you don’t like it, you can always change the paintings, it’s not like breaking walls. archdesign-tm.ru
Warm atmosphere
The ceiling was left white, and for the walls and textilesRich warm colours (terracotta, red, ochre) were chosen. This added sensuality and warmth. As a result, the room turned out to be formal, but at the same time cozy. When the rare sun comes out, the interior turns golden and radiates positivity.
Classics diluted with modernity
Different modern paintings were deliberately chosenauthors: from monochrome graphic paintings with views of cities to absolute abstraction, including the Art Nouveau style in a modern performance and a mixture of pop art with realism. In our case, they are all a little provocative: very modern not so much for the interior itself, but for the psychology of the customers. All the paintings were bought in the 11.12 gallery (former Art Quarter). Gallery owner Alexander Sharov kindly agreed to provide the paintings, as they say, "for a try-on". This practice is quite common for many galleries: it is much easier for the customer to decide on a purchase, having actually seen how the painting will look in the interior. Tatyana Morozova, architect:— It happens that the paintings chosen in the gallery do not fit in with the interior for which they were intended. And sometimes it is the other way around: in the gallery some piece looks so-so, but in the end it pulls out the entire interior, or simply harmoniously blends in and supports it. So it is better to “try on” the canvas you like in your interior before buying, so that there are no disappointments later.
Important little things
The textiles are a little more complicated on purpose (I usually doI don't do that). French translucent curtains + heavy active classics to the floor, complemented by complex trim, suggest three scenarios for curtaining. Also sewn covers for chairs - a technique that helps to create maximum comfort in the interior. Yes, they also changed the chandelier. Bright, colored, transparent glass pendants on a twisted, light, forged frame emphasize the complex silhouette of the lamp, echoing the color of the curtains. On a sunny day, the room is full of sunbeams.Tatyana Morozova, architect:— I wouldn’t call it an ideal interior, but the task set before us was accomplished. Especially since it required minimal intervention in terms of time and complexity. Let’s not forget that people lived there during the renovation.
