Today we will show you all the most interesting things thatour editorial team saw on the first day of the Cologne furniture exhibition. Transformer tables, expensive luxury beds, minimalist sofas and amazing color combinations — in our report The Imm Koeln exhibition — that’s what it’s called — is taking place this year from January 18 to 24. This article is a report on the first day of our visit. To begin with, we went to pavilion 11, which was called “design and high brands” in the guidebook. And in order to avoid confusion, we decided to structure our report specifically by brands. And you’ll “catch” the trends anyway, there aren’t many of them and they’re pretty easy to read. Let us make a small note: all but one of the factories that will be discussed in this article are among the best in Europe, they are famous for both their design and the quality of their products. Therefore, we’ll simply omit the words “famous factory”. Draenert, a German manufacturer of tables and chairs, famous in its time for its exceptionally unusual tabletops made of rare slates and unique transformation systems, offered this year tabletops made of marble and slates of fairly common varieties, but with completely unusual textures: all of them were only partially polished, some veins and patterns remained convex, but also uneven. It is very pleasant to touch such tabletops. We liked the color combination of furniture and accessories at Kristine Kronke Interior Design. Such warm and yet fashionable shades. Terracotta, olive, turquoise. Walter Knoll, on the contrary, had colors on the stand that were “not homely” and, frankly speaking, unusual for our eyes. This is what we liked. We will accustom our eyes to new combinations. The Dutch factory Leolux had, in our opinion,In my opinion, the most beautiful stand at the exhibition. Well, the brightest for sure. The factory is famous for its exceptional attitude to the quality of the leather used to upholster the sofas. By the way, there are only four factories in Europe that so reverently select leather and so carefully treat its coloring, preferring natural dyes to all other dyes. The stand looked not only very bright, but also very fashionable. At the same time, among the new models, the factory's bestsellers were also on display, such as the small Pallone chair, which has been produced since 1989 and is still received with great enthusiasm. We will see the new products from the Fiam factory in Italy,at the Milan Furniture Fair, but we couldn't help but photograph at least one of their famous mirrors. Our lens captured the Mary mirror, designed by Massimilian and Doriana Fuksas.Uvays Heydarov, "Kitchen Interiors":— The Cologne exhibition is the easiest way to understand how German design differs from Italian. Here it is visible, as they say, with the naked eye. German and Austrian are clear, verified, refined, but at the same time with a certain cold mood. Everything Italian in the same minimalist style is warm, creating an atmosphere of home even in the conditions of the exhibition. Here, the shades of metal in the finish, and the types of wood used, and, of course, the upholstery play a role. Although we must give credit - the stands of the companies COR and Ligne Roset had very pleasing to the eye collections. For example, I liked the items in the trendy color Rose Quartz. And at the stand of the Italian factory Poliform, whose furniture can be seen in our showroom, I liked everything. And the incomparable dressing rooms, decorated with hanging ballet tutus, and the shelves, and the living areas. Poliform is still the manufacturer whose furniture can be used to furnish the entire house, and it will look stylish and at the same time very cozy and comfortable. The editors at the stand of the Italian brand Poliform liked most of all the library designed by the architect Daniel Libeskind, the shelves along the entire wall and, of course, the dressing room. She showed a wonderful homely atmospherePoltrona Frau factory at its stand. The new collection was designed for it by the architect Michele Delucchi. We appreciated both the deep blue-green color of the walls and the new products themselves. The Italian factory Minotti, which became famouswith its fashion approach to creating collections, where the main thing was not the forms, but the colors and textures, this year it showed furniture in all possible shades of gray at its stand. However, it did not change its passion for purple colors, including carpets in lilac tones in the collection. The stand attracted a lot of visitorsItalian factory Porada, which is not surprising: it was located among the stands of German manufacturers and clearly contrasted with them. In the new collection, the editors liked most of all the unusually shaped mirrors, which the factory, according to its tradition, suggests hanging on the wall all at once and in large quantities - instead of paintings and other decor. The French factory Treca Interiors Paris showed at the exhibition both its main collection and the Orient Express collection, which has already become the talk of the town.Contrary to expectations, at the stand of the German factoryCOR, which usually produces sofas and armchairs of very strict shapes and colors, this time showed sofas in warm sand and pink shades, and also presented a collection of transformable upholstered furniture that will perfectly fit into a youth interior. Bravo! The combined stand was exceptionally beautifulfrom Ipdesign and BW. Olive, emerald and blue-green upholstery alternated with a range of grey and lilac. Visitors lingered at this stand for a long time simply to rest their eyes and minds. The stand became another island of relaxationTommy M company: leather sofas and armchairs were so cozy, comfortable and beautiful that you wanted to buy everything at once. And everything was “aggravated” by the delightful aroma of excellently tanned leather. The stand of the Austrian company Team7 was packed. So many people came to see the eco-friendly and at the same time expensive design that it was not easy to take pictures of the exhibits. One of the most famous manufacturersshelves and libraries — Paschen — has prepared a surprise: a unique patented system for assembling and disassembling shelves. Now you can assemble and disassemble a shelf in a matter of minutes: all parts are fastened with a locking system similar to that used in expensive laminates. Amazing, simple and ingenious! The most romantic color combinations werewere shown at the stand of the French brand Ligne Roset: there was the “main trend of the year” — the color Rose Quartz, and gray-blue shades, and turquoise, and fashionable yellow shades of metal. Some of the items were created by one of the brand’s favorite designers — Philippe Nigro. German manufacturer Rolf Benz showedseveral new sofas, as well as an unusual bench and table for it. The impeccable quality of the factory's furniture, as in previous years, attracted a huge number of visitors to the stand. There was no room for an apple at the Cassina factory standfall. Here, the architect Patricia Urquiola, who created the entire new collection of the factory, gave a master class. But even after the master class was over, the stand was overflowing with visitors. The factory produces items whose design does not need to be explained - it is understandable even to people far removed from design. We left the story about the stand for last.B & B Italia factories. Clean lines, verified forms, absolutely correct proportions - as always exemplary. At the same time, the quality of furniture from this factory can be considered unsurpassed. There are still many hotels in Italy furnished with furniture from this brand back in the 1970-1980s. In some places, the upholstery on the sofas had to be changed. But not the sofas themselves. Overall, the exhibition had a very positive impact on us.pleasant impression. Of course, the grey color has taken over everything this year, but at the same time, most of the furniture we saw was convenient, comfortable and, of course, beautiful. Ahead is a report from our second day of the exhibition.
