Imagine the situation: you are happy parents expecting your seventh child, and you really want to finally make your own nest in a big city. For example, in New York. What kind of building will attract you first? The correct answer is an old, crumbling motorcycle garage. It was its dilapidated walls that became the basis for the 5-story dream house of our heroes - with huge bedrooms, a kitchen on the roof and a basketball court. But most importantly, the authors of the project of this bright, unusual interior were the owners themselves - the Novogratz spouses.
This is the first project of self-taught designer Robertand Courtney Novogratz, which they built from scratch. The prolific duo had previously focused exclusively on “transformations” and “improvements,” so working on their own home on the site of a split-level garage in Manhattan was an exciting time for them.

The main inspiration for the spouses, of course,became children: in this house everything is focused first and foremost on their present and future. In particular, the white walls are intended to stimulate the imagination and set off contemporary art objects, which, according to the spouses, should shape the artistic taste of the younger generation from a young age.

Practical works done under the careful guidance of a professional will very quickly acquire the status of family heirlooms, and if you manage to interest one of your children in art to a sufficient degree, rest assured: the interior will be replenished with fresh masterpieces with enviable regularity.
As for interior items, theycollected according to the principle "from all over the world a little at a time". In this house, along with branded items, which even during seasonal sales are no cheaper than a car, there are also penny items collected from flea markets, and even things from IKEA.
