Only in this case, the fiberboard (or plywood) must be attached on both sides of the boards, top and bottom. In the seat and back boxes, you also need to saw 50x50 bars with a step of 100 mm. Next, screw the legs to the sofa. Particular attention should be paid to the assembly of the seat frame, since it will bear the greatest load. Try to choose high-quality timber without knots (no more than 40%). Coat all surfaces that are connected with wood glue and only then fasten with screws. Self-tapping screws and screws should be fastened with a step of no more than 20 cm. This will ensure the reliability of the connection. If the sofa upholstery is made of dense fabric that does not allow air to pass through, make holes in the plywood with a diameter of 15-20 mm to ensure air circulation. Visually divide it into sections. All parts of the upholstery should have a rectangular shape, even if the sofa itself is of an irregular shape. Now make patterns for the future upholstery parts. Drawings can be made on old wallpaper or newspapers. When the patterns are ready, you can start cutting the fabric. This can also be done by simply attaching the fabric to the sofa part and marking all the boundaries on it with chalk. The fabric must be cut from the wrong side. Allowances of at least 5 cm should be left for the seams, and if the edges of the fabric are crumbling, then leave more. The material must be clean and ironed. Place the cut parts on the corresponding parts of the sofa with the wrong side up. Secure the fabric with pins and baste with a contrasting thread. In order for the resulting cover to fit the sofa perfectly, you need to take into account all its curves and angles. When all the parts of the cover are swept, cut off the excess parts of the fabric and stitch on a sewing machine. Turn the finished cover inside out and try it on the sofa. Adjust it if necessary, cut off the excess and secure it to the sofa with a stapler. The sofa will be finished with nylon cord ties that are sewn to the upholstery.
