The creative team of the bureau has been creating unique designs for both private and public interiors for several years. Anna Muravina and Lada Guseva, designers They have been designing interiors in their own design bureau MUGU Interiors for over 20 years. They have extensive experience in various styles, from modern to traditional. mugu-interiors.com One of the founders of the design bureau, Anna Muravina, who is among the top ten designers in Russia, according to experts from Elle décor and Architectural Digest, answered Roomble's questions. In addition, Anna Muravina is the executive director of ODI (Association of Interior Decorators of Russia). These regalia give a clear understanding that our guest is a unique person in the world of design. However, Anna Muravina not only transforms space, but also conducts trainings and very soon, on April 9, will present the book "Recipes for a Happy Interior". In an interview with Roomble, Anna Muravina spoke about her team, the difficulties in her work and unique design projects. - Anna, tell us about the beginning of your professional career: where did you study and work? - I am a philologist by my first education, graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University. For some time, I even worked on Swedish television. From the age of 18, I lived alone, rented apartments and finished and decorated each of them. One day, my friends decided to open a restaurant and invited me to help with the design. I brought one project to life, then a second, a third. It became clear that I really like doing this. But for me it was more of a hobby, because in order to fully understand the profession, you need to get a specialized education. That's why I went to study at the Moscow Academic Art School in Memory of 1905, where they opened advanced training courses in the specialty "Interior Design", which were equivalent to a second higher education. There I met Lada Guseva, we sat at the same desk. And then, when we successfully defended our diplomas, we decided to work together. This collaboration has been going on for almost 18 years! - Who is on the MUGU Interiors design bureau team? - Lada and I, our director Natalia, textile designer Yulia, several decorators and architects. - What style do you work in? - Everything that is happening in interior design today can be safely called eclecticism. In the 19th century, this word was a swear word, but now it is almost a compliment. If we analyze Lada's and my style, it most likely fits the definition of "modern classics". — — Your design bureau has already existedmany years. What makes your services unique? — Professionalism. There are few professionals in the design market, although there are legion of people who call themselves such. — Anna, what do you consider your most important achievements? — It’s hard for me to talk about achievements. We are always on the move, developing. — Is there a project that you can call the best? — The best is my favorite. And my favorite is the one we are doing today. Tomorrow my favorite will be someone else, and I will consider him the best. My dance teacher once told me: “Never compete with anyone, because there will always be someone who is more technical, faster, more musical, who has better lines... You can only compete with yourself: with who you were yesterday and who you have become today. Then you will always be progressing and always at your best.” I have remembered these words for the rest of my life. Today the best is one thing, and tomorrow it is something completely different. We do not stand still, we grow and develop. And we should always compare ourselves today with ourselves yesterday. This is our progress and the key to our future. - Anna, you and Lada Guseva developed the Soft loft showroom project. Tell us more about it. - We faced a difficult task: we had to place a huge number of sofas, armchairs, beds produced by the Russian holding of factories "8 Marta" in a huge space with ceilings almost 8 meters high. Moreover, everything had to be arranged so that it did not resemble a furniture warehouse, but looked like a house decorated in the loft style. The style was dictated by the premises of the factory itself, in which the showroom was located. The combination of loft aesthetics with upholstered furniture also formed the basis for the name of the showroom - Soft loft. We created the interior very quickly, since the customers needed everything "yesterday". — - Anna, you create beauty incompletely different spaces — these are both private interiors and public places. Surely many have appreciated the White cafe. Tell us about this project. — This is Arkady Novikov's restaurant opposite the White House, which is actually where its name came from. A place where both officials and businessmen traditionally go to dine. The restaurant turned out to be very light, with the use of contemporary art. All the paintings can be purchased, the exposition is very mobile and often changes, thereby bringing novelty to the interior. It was decided to organize the space in such a way that visitors could feel secluded, while at the same time having the opportunity to view the entire hall. - Let's move on to private interiors. You design not only apartments and houses, but also villas. — Yes, one example is the Anastasia villa in Mallorca (Spain). It was built in the 70s. After purchasing the villa, our customers decided to redo everything. The villa fits into the landscape very well, it is located on the first line of the sea and from all the windows we see only the sea and the sky. When working on the interiors, we wanted this stunning view to “enter” the house, and we tried to emphasize this with all decorating techniques. The house is decorated in light natural colors - shades of natural stone, earth and sand. Turquoise-blue shades are “supported” in the paintings on the walls and in textiles. In Mallorca, it was quite problematic to find furniture and interior items that would suit us perfectly. Therefore, we had to buy everything we needed on the “mainland” and bring it to the island. The project was completed in three months, the construction lasted about a year and a half. - Anna, what is the geography of your services?— — We have worked in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the USA, Spain, Cyprus and London. — — What is your price tag? — — Ours is expensive. But it is important to understand that redoing a spoiled job is much more expensive. If you only knew how many people come to ask to fix and redo! As practice shows, a miser pays twice. — — Which brands can you call your favorites? Why them? — — I don’t have favorite brands. I don’t care about them, neither in clothes nor in furniture. I can say that lately we have turned our attention to the American market. Simply because the price-quality-variety ratio is much better there. — — What is the most difficult task you have ever faced? — — To design a swimming pool in a hotel in one night. — — What is your favorite place in the apartment? Why? — — I have lived in my house for over 10 years. And my favorite place is the garden. The opportunity to live in nature, walk barefoot, breathe in the aromas of jasmine and lilac is happiness, it is a high quality of life for a city dweller. I also really love the fireplace in the living room, the bathroom with an exit to the balcony. It is impossible to single out one place. I just adore my home! — Anna, the presentation of your book “Recipes for a Happy Interior” will take place very soon. Tell our readers where and when the event will take place. — The presentation will take place on April 9 at the Desing & Decoration Center. It will start at 5 p.m. Come, I will be glad to see everyone! We remind you that any architectural studio or interior designer can become a guest of Roomble. To do this, you need to write to us at [email protected], and we will definitely contact you. Designers — Anna Muravina and Lada Guseva; wday.ru; admagazine.ru
