In the interior of this style, projects of cottages, houses and spacious apartments are most often carried out - where it is possible to expand all its richness and stylistic breadth. The Art Deco interior is most appropriate in open-plan apartments and in squares of irregular geometric shapes. Olga Valle, interior designer:- Before starting a design project in this style, it is extremely important to agree with the customer on a common understanding of the characteristics of art deco. After all, clients often call this any projects, rich in color, with an abundance of bright geometric details and original shapes. Art Deco is a high-budget style with sophisticated finishes, precious woods and varnish. Traditional pieces here combine geometric ivory inlays on wood, marquetry, intricate carvings, glass and mirrors with characteristic patterns. citidesign.pro Speaking about the characteristic materials used in the Art Deco style, here you need to give preference to a combination of exquisite woods (ebony, olive, walnut) lacquer, silver, mirrors, metal and stone. It would be appropriate to use genuine leather, crystal, original textured wallpaper. The distinctive features of Art Deco interiors are geometric patterns in the decoration of walls and ceilings, abstract prints and furniture shapes characteristic of the style, as well as sophisticated sophisticated accessories. An important part of the art deco interior is the technical equipment of the room. Despite the fact that today "smart" solutions are applicable in almost any interior, it is the art deco houses that have always been innovators in the technological effectiveness of interior fashion. No such interior is complete without art objects and original accessories. Paintings or replicas of avant-garde artists, sculptures, figurines, as well as handmade furniture and carpets will be appropriate, since the sophistication of materials is the main trump card of the style. The art deco style is characterized by the fact that it combinesthe geometry and simplicity of objects and finishes on the one hand, and on the other hand, the sophistication of expensive materials from which these objects are made. For example, one of the traditional techniques is wall cladding with decorative panels that hide cabinets. Simplicity of shapes: panels are always of simple geometry, rectangular for example. But the panel materials are a different story. It can be a veneer of rare wood laid in complex patterns, varnish of exquisite shades, it can be covered with leather or suede of the highest quality. There is no abundance of decor elements, as, for example, in the Baroque or Rococo style, but there is a sophistication of finishes and the uniqueness of materials that create a luxury interior. The expressiveness of the art deco interior depends onthe taste of the customer and the designer, because only a designer with a sense of proportion is capable of creating a functional, stylish, elegant and at the same time restrained interior in this style. When creating such an interior, it is important not to cross the line between adventure and search, while maintaining the limitations of the art deco style. Moving away from standards means using truly unique materials in decoration. The use of all kinds of lighting techniques, the selection of original furniture and creative finishes - this will definitely make the interior expressive and unique. The main thing here is to follow a professional instinct, so as not to create an interior that is too theatrical and not suitable for life out of functional housing.
