A designer from China will refine the mostThe famous lakes of Kazan The jewel of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kaban lake system, has finally found its jeweler. It is the president and chief designer of "Turenscape" Kongzhan Yu.The winner of the design competition anddevelopment of the embankments and the coastal strip of the Kaban lake system, Dr. Yu made amazing statements at one of his open lectures in Kazan that in just five years the water from the lakes will be drinkable. The Chinese architect also reminded that Russia and China have a lot in common. We even have a similar part of history, Genghis Khan wasand you and we, and there are Tatars in China too... Kongzhan Yu Although Kongzhan Yu learned about the existence of both Tatarstan and Kazan in connection with the competition itself, the architect from the Celestial Empire was deeply imbued with the culture and natural resources of Tatarstan. And not in vain, because the republic is an ancient land that literally abounds in monuments and cultural heritage sites. In this regard, the story of Sviyazhsk is noteworthy.Editorial opinion:— Sviyazhsk is an island village washed by the Volga and built by disgraced monks. Sviyazhsk is also famous for its unique wooden church, where Ivan the Terrible atoned for his sins. The Tatars wanted the island village to become a UNESCO heritage site. But, unfortunately, they were denied. Why? The thing is that in pursuit of comfort, the central road was paved, violating the natural essence of the island. In this sad way, the Tatars not only covered the road with asphalt, but also the UNESCO cultural heritage status of Sviyazhsk. Kongzhan Yu is unlikely to have heard of this story, but at his open lecture in Kazan, the designer recalled poor Chinese girls whose feet were bandaged in order to show that the Chinese women belonged to the urban environment. Thus, “in the pursuit of beauty, the functionality of the foot was lost.” Architect Yu, apparently, meant that the urban component should go hand in hand with the ecological one; that natural aesthetics should not be inferior to the tons of concrete that are now used in Kazan to hold back the flow of water.Let's hope that the master from China will achieve thissuccess in the correlative pair “ecology - aesthetics”, and the water from the lake can not only be drunk, but also see treasures lying at the bottom, as the ancient Tatar legend says.
