Apartment for a businessman and a teacher: Moscow's ideal housing – etk-fashion.com

Does the interior have character? And if so, what should it be like so that both parents and children would feel comfortable living in the apartment? We are creating a portrait of the ideal interior using this Moscow apartment as an example. “Beauty, man, function.” This is the slogan that architect Alexey Komov used to describe his new project — a spacious three-room apartment in Moscow for representatives of the modern intelligentsia. In 9 months, he managed to create a discreet, yet stylish, 100% functional interior in a house on Akademika Vinogradova Street. How? We’ll tell you now. Alexey Komov, architect Alexey is a Moscow architect and researcher, member of the Union of Architects of Russia, and author of the exhibition project “Kurortograd,” dedicated to Soviet architecture in Crimea. In 1999, he graduated from MArchI and subsequently opened the “Alexey Komov Workshop.” In 2014, he curated the Crimean architecture section at the Zodchestvo-2014 festival. He is a regular winner of Russian and international competitions and the author of more than 60 successful projects. The owners of the apartment are a married couple with a teenage daughter. He is a businessman in a management position, she is a teacher at a gymnasium. A classic successful family of the 21st century that needs appropriate housing. That is why the main wishes were comfort, aesthetics and functionality. The interior had to be such that each element in it performed some task, making the life of the owners more pleasant and easier, and at the same time pleasing to the eye. Alexey Komov, architect:— The main objective of this project is to create a beautiful living machine with its own unique image and character. To organize a comfortable living space for a Moscow family, where utilitarian functions would be organized logically and conveniently, without compromising the artistic image. Since the apartment is located in , radical redevelopment was not required. During the development of the project, it was decided to combine the living room and dining room to make the space more open and free. The living room is the main room, the core of thisinterior. The dining room, kitchen, hall and other common areas are connected to it. All these areas are united with the help of joinery furniture made of two types of wood: walnut and birch. The semantic unit of the living room, connecting it with the living area, is a classic wall with a false fireplace and a library. In the kitchen we see a new color for the first time -blue, which is also found in the shower cabin lining in the bathroom. In the kitchen, it is used in the design. Despite the fact that the dining area is located in a separate dining room, there is a small bar counter with comfortable chairs and a plasma panel, where you can have breakfast or a snack, admiring the view outside the window. In the marital bedroom the mood changes:becomes more peaceful and gentle. The brown tones that dominate the entire apartment give way to shades of beige. The wallpaper pattern echoes the decorative pillows on the bed, and the perfectly white ceiling echoes the white soft headboard. The bedroom has excellent storage: there is a small but roomy wardrobe, racks and shelves around the TV. Alexey Komov, architect:— The color scheme of the entire apartment is dictated by a comfortable combination, classic and at the same time modern: warm wood and a fresh blue shade, found on fragments of walls and cladding. Comfort, organics, traditions — these are the main criteria for choosing a color scheme. Most of the interior elements are an example of laconic Scandinavian design. Some of the furniture was made to order according to Alexey's sketches, the kitchen is from a German manufacturer. Alexey Komov, architect:— The inspiration came from the era of post-constructivism, when machine forms of architecture and interiors became “humanized”. Forms and space are emphasized by the textures of finishing materials, color, while remaining functional and laconic. The customers expected modern coziness and spiritual comfort from the design, which can be reproduced inside the interior, and we succeeded.
