The latest invention of the Ukrainian designerarouses interest and admiration in the West. So why go far if projects are being developed nearby that are no worse than abroad?! Everyone loves soft and comfortable chairs. And few people would refuse to lie in a hammock in nature if such an opportunity arises. But the chair is too large and heavy to carry with you, and the hammock requires trees or other massive supports. Therefore, the young Kiev designer Yuriy Tsegla decided to combine these two items. And as a result, in 2009, at a furniture exhibition in Kyiv, people got acquainted with such an extraordinary invention as a hammock chair, which has no analogues in the world. Yuriy Tsegla, designer, architect Born in 1980. At the age of 22, he began to engage in interior, industrial and architectural design. "Design is the basis of my life. One day I realized that the things that surround me no longer satisfy my needs. I had to improve or modify something to create something new,” says Yuri. The public showed interest in the new product, but due to its large size and high cost, the hammock chair was not in demand. Time passed, and it was noticeably transformed physically, and its name changed. The Hammock Chair project became known as “Kolykhva”. The changes affected not only the dimensions of the product, but also the design as a whole. The weight of the hammock chair was reduced, it became portable, and now you can take it with you anywhere. Its dimensions are 106x73x5 cm, and its weight is about 10 kg. The hammock chair is easy to pack into a bag and itcan accompany you in the forest, in the mountains, on alpine meadows, and on the sea coast. It can be carried on the shoulder or transported in the car, because its thickness when folded is only 5 cm. The Kolykhva design was designedin such a way that, when positioned in it, uniform transverse oscillations can be achieved due to the partial landing of the body. The legs, which are on the ground, involuntarily swing the hammock to the sides, and thus the maximum level of relaxation is achieved.
Yuri TseglaIn the future, the author plans to useinstead of steel metal pipe aluminum, to make his invention even lighter. The structure can be painted in any color. The fabric part of linen and cotton fibers can be replaced with leather.http://www.cegla-design.com, www.facebook.com/yurii.cegla
