DIY nylon lamps are appropriate inany interior. Such lighting fixtures can be used to decorate a mantelpiece, place a glowing bouquet at the head of the bed in the bedroom, or place a composition on a table in a child's room or study.A nylon lamp will be appropriate in any typeinterior and can replace both a regular lamp and candles during a romantic dinner. A nylon lamp will be a successful addition to a romantic evening in the kitchen instead of traditional candles. It will take a couple of hours to make, a minimum of tools and consumables.
Preparatory work
At the first stage it is necessary to selectmulti-colored nylon, medium-hard wire, synthetic padding or cotton wool for stamens, colored paper. The tools you will need are scissors and a screwdriver. In the absence of multi-colored nylon, this material can be replaced with organza or painted from flesh-colored tights. The choice of flowers in a bouquet is individual for specific conditions:Varieties of plain nylon.
- in a blooming apricot, LEDs will be maximally open, the lamp will turn out bright, light yellow color will be required;
- for each inflorescence of camellia will require a maximum number of blanks of petals (up to 20 pieces), but in one bud can accommodate 3-5 LEDs providing muted diffuse light;
- in the camellias, inflorescences of various sizes (small in the upper part, increasing downwards) alternate with numerous leaves of a saturated green color;
- in light-violet unrevealed buds of wisteria it is convenient to hide lamps from a garland;
- in callas, LEDs are placed on the side of large stamens or replace them;
- for gladioli need a colorful capron, the bouquet turns out large, so the lamp is placed in the lower third of the vertical space of the room (bedside table, coffee table);
- buds irises, mekonopsis maximally open lighting, so the lamps of these colors are suitable for bright lighting of recreation areas.
For a mixed bouquet of several varietiesflowers will need more paint, but the composition will be guaranteed to have high artistic value. In any case, a bouquet with LED filling made of nylon will become a self-sufficient element of the interior. Return to contents</a>
Making a bouquet
The technology for making each flower, regardless of the plant variety, is as follows:Sequence of making a lily from nylon.
- after studying a living original or its high-quality photo, the flower is visually divided into separate elements: petals, stamens, leaves, stem;
- for the frame of the petals is better suited copper wire, giving the original edging perimeter, or multi-colored (in the tone of the color of the petal);
- For the framework of leaves, green wire is usually used (polymer coating of decorative material modification);
- one end of a piece of wire of the required length(it is chosen by calculation, it is not necessary to cut out the material in advance) wraps around a cup, glass, any other object of a suitable diameter, turns a few turns;
- after removing the blank from the template, the leaves are given the desired shape (oval, heart, drop) without changing the flat shape;
- then a nylon is cut on the frame, cut off at the hinge, pulled together by a colored thread;
- if necessary, the petals, the leaves are painted by dipping in the paint or by spraying, applying the brush in the desired color;
- if necessary, varnish, transparent glue along the perimeter is fixed "pollen" (shiny powder, as in New Year's toys);
- After the workpieces dry up, they give them the necessary volumetric shape.
From the petal blanks, buds are collectedpistils inserted into the middle of the composition. Pieces of wire with cotton or synthetic balls at the end, also covered with nylon, and secured with a thread from below, are usually used as pistils. This completes the preparatory part of the construction of nylon flowers. The lamps are assembled from blanks on a common stem:You can fasten flowers in a bouquet with wire or special floral tape.
- to the multi-colored wire, buds, leaves directed in different directions, are alternately tied up with a colored thread;
- the spatial geometry of the individual elements is adjusted as necessary;
- The complexity of the design depends entirely on the chosen flower variety.
After composing the bouquet, it remains to installLEDs or a regular garland inside it, remove the power cable as hidden as possible, place the composition near a socket or power supply. Return to contents</a>
Arrangement of composition
For the convenience of home designersManufacturers produce floral tape that will help to assemble a lamp from a nylon bouquet. With a low power of incandescent lamps used, closed lamps are possible (Fig. 1). In these designs, the petals form a ball, the electric wire is led down through a tube decorated with floral tape or colored thread. A flowerpot with filler (multicolored crushed stone) is used as a support. The lamps are compact, provide sufficient lighting intensity, the regulation of which is achieved by changing the number of LEDs. Nylon is a flammable material, so caution is required when using these household appliances. It is not recommended to leave them on in the absence of users, to use them without a switch built into the cord at a significant distance from the outlet.Figure 1.It is not necessary to place the petals close to the lamp, because nylon is a flammable material. To give the material the desired color, several dyeing technologies are used. The best quality is provided by paint used in factories producing women's stockings. The material is dipped for an hour in a mixture of colorant and washing powder (a tablespoon per 6 liters), then rinsed three times in a soap solution, cold water. A budget option of fairly high quality (no streaks, the fabric does not stain hands) is to dye nylon with compounds for wool or cotton. Each packet of such a dye is mixed with three spoons of salt, two - vinegar essence. The stockings are dipped in a liquid heated to 40 degrees for a quarter of an hour, then heated together with it to 75 degrees, and left for half an hour. Rinsing is also the final operation. Despite the natural origin of the dye, heating the fabric to extreme temperatures causes the material to shrink. Return to Contents</a>
Installation of lighting elements
The final stage of manufacturing the lightinga device in the form of a flower bouquet made of nylon with your own hands is the installation of lamps or LEDs inside the flowers. The leaves are usually not illuminated, giving the necessary contrast. If necessary, we make a chandelier using the same technology:Figure 2. A nylon chandelier with a matte bottom cover creates a soft light in the room that does not strain the eyes.
- from a more rigid wire a frame is constructed;
- in contrast to the flower bouquet, the framework frames in this case are fixed to each other by wire, and not by a thread;
- after the construction is tightened with one or several layers of capron, it is painted in any convenient way;
- A standard cartridge is installed in the upper part of the finished lampshade, the supply cable is retracted.
To hang a homemade chandelier you needprovide a wire ring that is masked by a factory lampshade. If necessary, you can use a ready-made junction for connecting the chandelier to the ceiling lining. Incandescent lamps, unlike LEDs, have a more intense heating, so it is unacceptable to place the nylon lampshade shell close to them, or to use lamps over 25 W. Another version of a nylon chandelier is a design (Fig. 2) with a matte bottom cover, side walls covered with black nylon with a plant ornament. It creates a subdued light in the room, does not strain the eyes, giving them rest.</ ul>
