New Year is a family holiday for me, and I have broken the tradition of celebrating it with my family only a couple of times. Once I celebrated on a yacht in the Caribbean, which is great in itself, but, alas, there is no sense of celebration. Here's how it was: suddenly, in broad daylight, my friends and I realized that the New Year was about to arrive. We ran to the bar, it was about 18 local time... hello, New Year! To be honest, we did not feel the holiday at all. Other people's traditions take root with difficulty. For example, a bathhouse happens to me every other year. It is difficult to get there, but I like the tradition itself: it is also a great way to see friends on the eve of the holiday!I really like the tradition of forfeits-gifts:everyone writes down their wishes, the others draw out one idea for a gift, which one exactly remains unknown until the holiday arrives. In the second round, names are drawn and a game is played to see who gives to whom. I recommend taking it on board: the idea is interesting, and the gifts are useful. This tradition is also known as "Secret Santa" and is ideal for giving gifts to colleagues, which we successfully use. With colleagues, we organize corporate events that contribute to the emergence of a festive mood, for example, we went to Karelia and other unusual places. My mother instilled this tradition in me back in school. We put presents strictly under the tree - this is a mandatory rule: this way they look much more festive and desirable. And where would we be without a playlist of old favorite songs in anticipation of the coming holiday? We spend a long time planning the menu for the New Year's tableand thoroughly. Once we even decided on a total experiment: we gave up our usual dishes and replaced them with new ones. But the idea did not catch on: after all, New Year is about tried and tested dishes. To create a festive mood, decorate the table with oranges and tangerines with cloves stuck in them - the smell is unique! We can't do without mulled wine - we have been making it on weekends since the beginning of December and creating a New Year's mood for ourselves. The next day after the fun, we arrange a long walk to "disperse" the hearty dishes from the holiday table in ourselves. Sometimes we get together and make pelmeni at home - a very soulful tradition. As a designer, I can't help but share a coupletips on holiday interior. It is important to set a single style for everything: the color of the decor, Christmas tree decorations and even clothes. Especially if you decide to opt for a themed decor, remember the important rule: moderation and one common theme for all elements. Having chosen the leitmotif of the holiday decoration, decide on the center of the composition. Traditionally, this is a Christmas tree, but the honorable role can also be taken by a fireplace decorated with a charming fir wreath, or an elegant dining table in the living room. Make sure that the New Year's decorations are conceptual and emphasize the style of your interior. Related articlesChoose natural!Instead of artificial wreaths and decorative elements, decorate your favorite home with wreaths made of elegantly intertwined living branches. You can order such a wreath from a florist, and if you create it yourself, it will become a real source of pride. Save the life of a Christmas tree: you can buy it in a tub, and after the holiday, plant it outside so that it continues to delight you there. And if you have already given preference to an artificial tree, then be sure to choose a high-quality, as natural as possible. Otherwise, the main decoration of your interior risks looking meager and mediocre.Modern mass-produced figurines, which often do not decorate the interior, but, on the contrary, depersonalize it, making it “one of many”, replace with stylized candlesticks-lanterns. In addition to beauty, they will bring warmth, comfort and a fairy-tale atmosphere to the house. We see multi-colored garlands in almost every house or cafe before the New Year. Do not be like everyone else, give preference to single-color garlands with uniform light and paper star-lamps located on the windowsill or above the window. As an alternative to the drizzle and tinsel that are becoming a thing of the past, use stylish paper garlands and paper flags. I myself am a big fan of proven traditions, but sometimes it is worth trying something new. Try and bring an unusual note to your usual design!Well, and perhaps the main advice:don't delay decorating your interior. It's hardly possible to create a well-thought-out and harmonious decor a day before the holiday. You must admit, you want to celebrate New Year's Eve in beauty, and not in thoughts about how to create it. Celebrate the New Year beautifully and in the right mood! Related articles
