Everything most of us know about winterinteriors of cold countries - this is an obvious fact of the presence of good heating. However, you probably did not even imagine that in winter you feel especially comfortable in interiors of wine and honey shades, and that Scandinavians make white walls based on artificial lighting of the yellow spectrum. Read about this and much more in our new material

Winter interiors are not what you thinkthink. Even we ourselves were surprised at how different this concept is from our ideas about it. Interior designer Varvara Zelenetskaya revealed all the secrets. Varvara Zelenetskaya, designer A certified specialist in interior and furniture design, a specialist in art management (graduated from the Humanitarian and Applied Institute and the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems), interned in Florence at the Lorenzo di Medici Design Institute. Since 2002, she has been a co-owner of the Dekointeriors studio at the Central House of Architects. In 2005, she opened her own studio, which works with interiors - from an architectural project to individual items. - To create a winter feelinginterior, it is not necessary to place radiators in the corners and cover the walls with felt. The right shades will help fill the space with a feeling of warmth and coziness. In traditional cultures of various countries of the world, rich, spicy colors associated with food that warms us are used to create a warming home atmosphere. This can be honey, cinnamon, lemon zest, chocolate, caramel, and, of course, red wine, from which mulled wine is made in winter.

Lighter spots will perfectly fit the fabric of such an interior. For example, smoky gray, coffee with milk - these colors look very organic against the background of rich wine shades.

Of course, to create the desired atmosphere of cozinessas a tool, you can use not only color, but also textures, such as ebony, wine-colored wenge, cashmere blankets, rich, thick-colored textiles and, of course, fur will look very good in a winter interior. If your life beliefs do not allow the presence of animal skins in the house, you can easily get by with an artificial substitute, of which there are now a great many on the market.

There is another way to comfort - the Scandinavian one.I once traveled all over Scandinavia and was completely amazed by the abundance of white interiors. They were everywhere - in apartments and houses, restaurants and cafes. Let's not forget about the Swedish manufacturer IKEA, which shoots almost all of its interiors on a white background.

White walls are an opportunity for Scandinaviansto compensate for the monstrous lack of light, hence the absence of curtains on the windows. The interior tries to capture and hold every, even the tiniest, ray of light that breaks through the impenetrable clouds of the winter country.

In Scandinavian interiors, the emphasis is on the already mentioned textures - wood, natural textiles, sometimes stone and concrete. Plastic is a rare guest in such interiors, it is too cold.

But what about white walls? How can they be cozy? The Scandinavians have a stunningly simple and effective solution for this — light. The diffused light of yellow bulbs, which, by the way, are very popular on the market now, creates a surprisingly warm, enveloping atmosphere. In this case, the light begins to work with the space, and the wall becomes a reflector. Unfortunately, to understand how this works, you need to visit such an interior in person. Photos are not able to convey all the feelings. And photographers rarely shoot interiors in the evenings, which is a pity.
