What is budget Scandinavian style, howcreate an interior entirely in natural colors and where can you install a fireplace, besides the living room? Let's look at the example of a two-room apartment in Moscow The owners of the apartment are a young creative couple: he is a musician, she is a journalist. Both love the Scandinavian style with its simple forms and open spaces, and therefore wanted to combine Nordic comfort and the style of the 50s and 60s in the interior. The couple entrusted the work on the project to interior designer Stepan Bugaev. Stepan Bugaev, interior designer Graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with a master's degree in physics and from the Higher School of Economics with a master's degree in business informatics. Has his own design studio, under his leadership more than 500 design projects have been implemented. Included in the top 100 best designers, according to the leading interior publication AD. He is a teacher at the HSE School of Design, teaches his own course "Interior Design. Rules for Creating a Successful Project". Since the Scandinavian style is characterized by open spaces and an abundance of light, it was decided to make the layout accordingly. To do this, the designers combined the kitchen and living room. The owners also decided not to allocate a separate room for the dressing room, so the storage systems were evenly distributed between the bedroom and the hallway. The main area in the apartment is the public area. The designers decided to stylistically combine the kitchen, done in warm olive tones, with the more austere and bold living room, decorated in monochrome, using a dining set made of soft beige wood.Overall, the atmosphere of the public areaturned out to be a bit ascetic, but cozy due to the use of a natural range of colors and laminate with a warm wooden texture on the floor. In the design of the kitchen, we see a typical Scandinavian style technique: an abundance of white and a combination of a wooden countertop with furniture of simple shapes against its background.Since the interior was created for a young family,it was necessary to look for the most budget-friendly solutions. For the wall decoration, they chose a democratic option - painting, and the furniture was simple and functional. However, there was also room in the apartment for stylish designer items: for example, the famous Barcelona chair in the living room and hand-made lamps by Tom Dixon in the kitchen. The stove is an almost integral elementScandinavian style. For this apartment, the designers chose its modern "brother" - , and installed it not in the traditional living room, but in the hallway. Due to this, the typical passage area immediately became cozy and more interesting. The bedroom is done in natural neutral tones.palette - blue, white and olive colors plus wood texture - and is designed to set the mood for relaxation and help take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Laconic furniture here is combined with elegant bedside tables on long curved Calligaris legs, and they are united by the same shade of white. A small work area is allocated by the window. To dilute the feeling of intimacy and fill the room with air, a mirrored cabinet was placed opposite the window: reflections diffuse natural light and visually make the room more spacious. The bathroom has a characteristic atmosphereThe apartments have a neutral color palette: white and shades. The walls are tiled in different tones and partially painted, and the white plumbing does not seem bulky at all and maintains a feeling of free space even in a small bathroom. The owners of the apartment love nature very much and oftengo out of town to relax. Therefore, they prefer natural colors, and in the entire interior, the main palette is olive in the kitchen, blue in the hallway and living room area, a shade of fresh foliage in the bedroom, as well as cream and beige colors. All this is harmoniously combined with wooden textures of furniture and floor coverings and white color actively used in the design of the rooms.Tips from interior designer Stepan Bugaev on creating a similar interior:
- Remember that color is a key stage in creating the desired interior. The combination of neutral shades, white and natural wood is the key to success.
- When the color palette is selected, you can safelyproceed with the selection of forms and textures. As a rule, simple and concise pieces of furniture and light in color and structure materials do not attract too much attention.
- Having created the basic filling of the interior, you can saturate the space with sign furniture and decor.
- You should also not be afraid to use black in the design of the room. For example, black linear lamps will not spoil your calm interior at all, but will only add dynamics and rhythm to it.
