Cozy interior of the villa: Provence style in a small living room

The comfort and warmth of French Provence for ouropen spaces are no longer exotic. Today, more and more summer cottage owners are trying to bring elements of the French village to their plots. Today, we will visit just such a house. This time, the Fazenda program turned the disadvantages of the house layout into its advantages. Ten years ago, Lidiya Ivanovna bought a small village house for her daughter and granddaughters. They renovated it and built a second floor. Thanks to the efforts of the women, the log house of the “not first youth” turned into a cozy country house. The whole family often gathers in it. It was this room that the project designer, Tatyana Kostryukova, got to work on. Tatyana Kostryukova, interior designer “The philosophy of design for me is in the harmonization of being. The main thing is to create a functional and harmonious interior, be it a residential or public space. I am engaged in interior design as a private designer, I have been drawing, decorating, and painting in oil since childhood. At one time, she graduated from an art school, was preparing to enter an art college, but in the end she entered a construction technical school, which she also successfully graduated from. She realized her dream by graduating from the International School of Design in Moscow (specializing in "interior architecture and decoration"). The room is simple and rectangular at first glance. But everything is complicated by the built-in closet. It "steals" space. Therefore, the first thing the program team did was carefully dismantle the closet without disturbing the staircase structure. Then they removed the laminate from the floor and the uneven paneling from the walls. But they decided to leave it on the ceiling...The slope of the staircase was slightly veiled by a partition - crosspieces made of timber were attached to the vertical posts. This way the staircase is not conspicuous, and the sleeping area is isolated from the general area. The walls are dominated by a mint shade. And the decorative partition was made two-color. The crosshairs typical of Provence were made in a bleached coral shade. But the verticals, like the low ceiling, were white. Due to the color of the snow, it visually rises. Some of the walls were covered with Swedish wallpaperplant print. On a white background - mint-green fern leaves. The wallpaper is non-woven, but looks "warm" - like paper. They played with a fragment of the staircase - "canopy", then the wallpaper "runs" in a strip along the ceiling and "flows" down the wall. Thus, the wallpaper managed to highlight the sleeping area. The floor was covered with cork with a protective coatingvarnish. The cork itself is glued to a wood fiber board, and on top is a digital photo image of oak parquet flooring. Parquet flooring made from planks selected in advance by pattern and color is called parquet flooring. Its installation takes a lot of time. And cork flooring with a locking connection is easy and quick to install! Tatyana Kostryukova, interior designer:— Natural wood parquet is too expensive for a summer house. Another thing is the artificially created texture and color of real wood on cork. It looks like real parquet, but the practical properties of cork are obvious: it is warm, and a dropped cup is unlikely to break — because cork is a good shock absorber. And walking on it is a pleasure. Set of lamps in Provence style - two chandeliersand sconces — placed in the sofa area. The lampshades of these lamps are made of textile and metal crosshairs. Another sconce is above the ottoman. Ceiling spotlights create their own lighting atmosphere. Finally, the central place is occupied by a large chandelier — in the same country style. But that's not all the lighting. Each window sash was covered with roller blinds.curtains. A simple mechanism made it easy to roll them up and unroll them. But a thin mint-colored tulle can also protect the room from the bright sun. Provence-style curtains with a floral pattern in the colors of the interior added charm. Their airiness was emphasized by the drapery. To make it “play,” the cornices had to be hung right up to the ceiling!Tatyana Kostryukova, interior designer:— We placed another open shelving unit near the fireplace. All our furniture is made of solid pine. Simple, comfortable form. But it is covered with a special white paint with the addition of wax. The furniture is painted, but the wood grain is not lost. The interior with it became light, festive and completely country. became a solid coral sofa in the English style. It combines the elegance of the classics and modern comfort. After all, a respectable sofa easily turns into a double bed. And the soft light of an elegant floor lamp creates a real oasis of home comfort near it.
