How to make an apartment more expensive through design: an example from Moscow – etk-fashion.com

You have a small apartment, but you lovecontemporary art and would like to see some of its examples in your home? Doubt that it will be appropriate in a living space? Do not doubt. Everything is appropriate. In our example, an incredible project with volumetric installations and marble slabs was completed in a small room. Let's see how the designer brought the ideas to life and which of them we can use for ourselves. The main ideas of this project were transformability and complete openness. Freely circulating air flows, the beauty of light shades, comfortable modern furniture - these are the main motives of the project. According to the idea of Lena Gordina (the designer of the project), the apartment was supposed to function as a single space with small closed or partially isolated areas. In the end, this is what happened, but the project underwent some changes in the color scheme, in particular, with the inclusion of a contrasting orange color.Lena Gordina, head of an architectural bureau, chief architect-designer Lena has developed and successfully implemented more than 50 projects. She organized her own bureau and successfully heads it. lenagordina.ru

Art objects and installations

Initially, a bright apartment was consideredby the author as an open exhibition space for "exhibits" or installations. This gave the opportunity to play with textures and shapes. As a result, the installations turned out to be very functional. Lena found an excellent solution - she made the main art object of the apartment modular innovative lamps made of polycarbonate with built-in LEDs of different shapes. No one had used such lamps in residential premises before; most often, they were used to illuminate large industrial facilities. Lena saw the lighting installation as a "snake" flying through the entire space, changing the amplitude of the bend depending on the need to illuminate a particular functional area. In the office, this lamp turned into a "bridge" illuminating the table, in the bedroom - into a giant, almost 4.5 m in size, hovering square object. The second most important art object was an object made of Corian. We will tell you about it below.Lena Gordina - At first I wanted to docompletely white interior, focusing only on textures. But then came the understanding that some contrast and a drop of warmth were needed. Added a little warm orange color in the partition, LEDs - and the interior sparkled! Everything worked out. lenagordina.ruFreestanding Kitchen Island DiningLena combined the table and the pouf seats in the hallway with a multifunctional item made of Corian, which turned into a comfortable pouf in the hallway, into a countertop with a sink in the kitchen, and into a dining table in the form of a bar counter in the living room. The study area is completely open, but the head of the family only occasionally works from home. The family living in the apartment is very friendly, no one bothers anyone if they need to concentrate. Our opinion: - A very interesting point. The apartment is planned in such a way that the risers are located along the wall that separates the apartment and the elevator hall, while the pylons next to the window openings set the visual dimensions of the zoned rooms. At the same time, the area of the apartment is almost completely open, the living room, dining room and kitchen are a single space that directly flows into the hallway. The apartment can be compared to a luxurious museum of modern art, but the static nature of the museum is successfully leveled by bright accents in the interior. We also paid attention to the art object, consisting of canvases by the famous artist Marina Gertsovskaya, which are called "Flying" (paintings depicting flying people in the bedroom and kitchen). It fits perfectly into the interior, creating a special atmosphere of sophistication.
