How to make a good renovation in 2016?How to transform your interior in the context of import substitution? Are there any Russian manufacturers of furniture and decor that can compete with the European design market? You will find answers to these and many other questions in our article… At first, there was an opinion in the circles of designers and architects that good ones would no longer be seen, because it would be difficult for the Russian furniture market not only to provide everyone with quality products, but also to keep up with all the newfangled trends. We decided to ask architects and designers if everything is really so bad, and at the same time tell you about Russian companies that are the future of our interiors. So, first of all, we will prove to you that Russianthe earth is also rich in talent, and we will introduce you to companies (if, of course, you are not familiar with them yet) that are trying their best to make ours more beautiful. Woodi The “Three Musketeers” of design — Polina Balashova, Marina Kazakova (founders of Woodi Bureau) and Irina Kruglova (art director) — founded a furniture bureau that has been producing furniture for both home and public spaces for over four years. The professional founders themselves are fans of “Scandinavian interiors and modernist design,” so the style direction of the company becomes clear. If you already want to try it on your owninterior possibilities of Woodi, here is their website: woodido.ru. Archpole Furniture studio Archpole appeared in Russia eight years ago and started by ennobling spaces and creating various architectural objects. Then the guys "laid eyes" on old boards and birch plywood - and began to do furniture design as well. Many who come to our bureau say that it is very rare to see people who come up with something and implement it. Konstantin Lagutin, co-founder of Archpole Perhaps someone has already decided to order fromguys from Archpole furniture, so we leave the name of their website here: polehop.ru. Demo-art Could you imagine that we know how to make beautiful and high-quality furniture in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles? Well, try to imagine! The Demo-art design studio was created specifically to please us with elite furniture. Words are superfluous, go to the website and see for yourself: interiorexplorer.ru. Our craftsmen have been trained by famous Italian furniture makers and designers. My colleagues have mastered the art of artistic wood processing techniques. Alexander Goloshchapov, head of the Demo-art studio FineObjects Home and, in our opinion, successfullyThe mission of the FineObjects studio is "development of Russian object design and creation of designer furniture and interior items." The studio has its own showroom on Frunzenskaya, which you can visit and see for yourself that the guys work properly. By the way, all the furniture is assembled and manufactured on the territory of the Kristall. Assembly Point plant. And here is the studio's website — fineobjects.ru. Field&RageThe Field&Rage company is an interesting mix: the specialists have collected original designer furniture and interior items from the best Russian and foreign brands. You can get acquainted with the company's assortment and learn more about what the guys do on their website - field-rage.ru. We have always liked stylish furniture, and at some point we realized that we can do no worse, and even better than what is offered on the market. Pavel Shelyagin, founder of the Field&Rage company "Denis Milovanov's Workshop" Tables, chairs, chairs, sculptures and even various types of street objects are made by the "Denis Milovanov Workshop". But as slowly and consistently as a tree grows, preserving its structure. Denis Milovanov, furniture maker "Arismo-engineering" Still quite young, butThe already quite experienced company "Arismo-engineering" is engaged in the development and manufacture of various metal structures, as well as outlandish things made of metal, plastic and glass. You can find out more about how the company is going to implement the import substitution program here: arismo.ru. We are not limited in our capabilities, so our creativity and imagination of young and talented employees allow us to create truly amazing products. Alexander Samokhin, CEO of "Arismo-engineering" Import substitution: can we do it?Not long ago, a heated debate broke out in one of the social networks between architects and designers about whether they could manage without imports for construction and finishing, without foreign textiles and without Western-made furniture. We present to your attention several excerpts from a professional dispute on the topic: "What would happen if everything overseas was banned?"However, not everyone was optimistic…For someone from the design world, the interior turned out to behalf empty, and for some people, the opposite. But, as they say, so many people, so many opinions. And we, in turn, managed to talk to the famous Russian architect Sergei Estrin and find out from the master what he thinks about import substitution, what the interiors of the future will be like, and whether Sergei would agree to go and work abroad…— Is Russian design capable oftoday to compete with the West? — Our ideas are great, in no way inferior to the ideas of Western architects and designers. But in many ways we are losing, for a variety of reasons. Including the fact that now many designers are doomed to save. And saving is, as a rule, a problem with materials. There are a lot of good interiors in Moscow. Those in restaurants are in plain sight. Where else can you see current urban design? Excellent inventive interiors... — How much has Russian design progressed over the past year? — It's hard to say. Any developments are progress; new challenges - new solutions. If we are talking about industrial design, then I have not noticed much progress. Russian designers win competitions, do interesting things, but then nothing happens. Unfortunately, there is no mass demand for Russian industrial design. — What, in your opinion, will the interiors of the future be like if everything is made in Russia? — There can be no subsistence economy in the modern world. No country can produce and design everything — from a toothbrush to a rocket — on its own territory. And no one needs it. There are ready-made, successful designs that are produced inexpensively, in China, for example. If we want to make some kind of plastic case for a video recorder camera from scratch, we will spend $100,000 on the development and shape. Why? In a word, I am categorically against such a prospect and do not even want to think about what will happen to architecture and design under such conditions. — Tell us about the main differences between Western and Russian schools of design? — There is Soviet museum design, it is quite recognizable. A jar for marmalade wedges was widespread throughout the country — and there was nothing else. The shape of a faceted glass, the design of matchboxes — all this is classic. However, there were very few options. In any Chinese supermarket you will find more design than was created in the entire history of the Soviet Union. Representatives of the Russian school of design are mainly architects or artists. We do not have such a powerful design tradition that has developed in the West, craft traditions were also interrupted at some point and have not yet been fully restored. — Sergey, admit it, would you like to go and work in the West? —- In 2014, I was probably more of an optimist. Now I don’t know how to answer this question…
