And to diversify this boring household process, add a creative component to it by making several original hanging shelves with your own hands. There are probably several free walls in your apartment that will be a great background for wooden shelves suspended on leather straps. Their unusual style - a mixture of country, eco and minimalism - corresponds to fashionable design trends. Therefore, having spent a little time and effort on making these shelves, you will get not only additional storage space, but also stylish decorative accessories. To make the shelves, you will need:
- 2 wooden planks (in our case, their size is 75x30 cm);
- 4 leather straps (the optimal length for our original sizes is 75 cm);
- 8 screws or screws (4 long, with plastic dowels, and 4 short);
- sharp knife or scalpel;
- Ruler;
- drill;
- level (tool).
First, use a sharp knife and a ruler to trim the edges of the straps to give them an aesthetic look.
Then fold the straps in half and drill through holes for the fasteners as shown in the photo.
The distance from the edge of the strap to the drilling point should be approximately 2 cm.
The next step is to attach the straps to the wall using large screws. To make this easier, pre-drill holes and install plastic dowels in them.
Place the pre-prepared board inthe resulting leather loops and use the level to give your future shelf a strictly horizontal position. Having achieved the desired result, finally fix the back part of the strap to the wall using short screws.
By doing the same with the remaining materials, you will get a wonderful set of two hanging shelves that will take a worthy place in your interior.
