Unusual wall in the apartment: creation of a working zone The sliding wall in this apartment appeared as a result of a stunning transformation of the living space. Some time ago, fate brought together a college professor living in an almost emergency studio, and progressive architect Michael Chen. The living space was so small, and his condition was so deplorable, that Michael decided to change the situation by any means. The most impressive result of Chen’s work was a furniture system with a movable module capable of changing the functionality of a residential area. 
General view of the room The design occupies two wallsand mobility is provided by a rail laid on the floor. In the afternoon, the module moves to the wall, which has a folding berth. The work space is hidden behind the sliding doors. 
The principle of operation of the system in action MobileThe construction is manually operated, but, according to the customer’s wishes, it is additionally equipped with a remote control. The basis for the wall served as an aluminum frame, and for the shelves used plywood and MDF. The whole room is painted with white gloss paint, visually increasing the space. 
Lifting bed Architect abandonedpendant lamps, replacing them with powerful LED strips attached to the ceiling. According to his plan, the light directed at the ceiling is reflected from the white surface, so the apartment is always as bright as day. 
Sleeping area The mobile module is embeddedTV, able to rotate around the central axis. This allows the owner of the apartment to watch TV programs from different points of the room. The mini-bedroom also has a wardrobe and a small shelving on which there are books and a desk lamp. 
Bedroom as a dressing room When the bed rises, the bedroom turns into. The full-size wardrobe is made of solid oak, equipped with drawers and clothes rails. 
A wardrobe and a TV. The apartment has only two windows, so a small table was set next to one of them. This solution provided the design with a cozy look and completeness. 
Design of a tiny dining room Before the reconstructionin the kitchen there was only a refrigerator and a sink, and there was no way to cook food in it. In the updated interior - very fashionable and bright - there appeared a stove and a comfortable tabletop. 
Kitchen and bathroom door A small bathroom is also made in white and, in addition to the shower and the toilet, it accommodates a small closet for towels and other things.
