How to use strict geometric shapes in the interior: an unusual treshka from Italy

Combine simple circles, squares in the decor,Rectangles are always relevant and fashionable. How to apply strict forms and clear lines in a residential interior? Let's look at a real example from Italy This two-level 160-meter residence is located in Milan. It has a large living room, a kitchen, several bedrooms, two bathrooms and a terrace with a decorative garden. The design of the apartment was done by the Disegnoinopera studio. To transform standard rooms into stylish spaces, the authors of this project had to remember geometry.

Rectangles and squares: an asymmetrical atmosphere of life and freedom

Most of the first level is occupied by the living room.a room with an individual wall system. The niches are made in the form of simple squares and rectangles, which creates a sense of reliability in the interior. They are located asymmetrically and focus attention on themselves. It was also possible to highlight certain areas in the space. To make the interior look expressive, clear straight lines were used to mark the partitions on the glass door that leads to a small balcony. The sofa with pillows and the carpet on the floor also have the shapes of asymmetric squares and rectangles. The furniture in the living room is arranged in such a way that the integrity of the main geometric shapes is not violated. It is suitable for both lively communication and relaxing rest. Our opinion: - If the color of the furniture in a geometric interior is light, then to maintain balance, it is appropriate to use a darker floor covering.

Circles: Saving Space and Smoothing Out the Corners

If squares and rectangles are brought inspace clarity, neatness and order, then circles and waves serve as softening elements in the decor. Smooth lines add the necessary harmony to the space and create home comfort. Therefore, the interior contains wavy and round shapes. A bright accent in the room is the spiral staircase leading to the second level of the apartment. This option allowed to save space, and also made the interior more interesting and stylish. Round shapes allowed to combine all the objects into one common composition. Please note - rounded shapes are present in many pieces of furniture, plumbing, in mirrors, this is a fashionable trend today.

Minimum of bright colors

Geometric shapes are already attractiveattention, so the color scheme was chosen to be calmer and lighter. The interior is not devoid of juicy accents that refresh the space: delicious cherries, flowers, fruits and paintings in the kitchen. Even the original chandelier in the center of the living room received a bright but discreet touch. It is attached to a red cord. The main thing is that this technique allows you to draw attention to the unusual shape of the lighting fixture, but at the same time it does not dominate the interior. There is nothing to distract from the bedroom area.a calming, soothing mood. Simple rectangular lines of beds and pillows are ideal for small spaces. Especially since one of them has a beautiful view from the window onto a terrace with lush green plants.

Note!

  • If you want to make the wall visually longer and emphasize the horizontality, choose square furniture and arrange them in one line.
  • Vertical waves can significantly enhance the effect of visual “stretching”.
  • Horizontal waves change practically nothing in the geometry of space.
  • Rounded shapes always evoke a feeling of security and coziness. They create softness in the space and make the interior more harmonious and “feminine”.
  • It is clear that the interior of the residence is fashionable and modern. It has a minimum of decorations, accessories and textures.
  • The layout and furniture are designed in an asymmetrical balance, which looks attractive and individual.
  • Materials such as marble, stone, glass, wood are used. Clean and clear lines are combined with smooth and round shapes. This can be seen throughout the interior, including the bathrooms.
  • There are no curtains on the windows, making the interior comfortable, light and welcoming.
  • Geometry in the interior is not so bad! Sometimes it is worth remembering about it!
