There are two types of artists - those who live in the nakedwalls, seeking inspiration in the joints of parquet boards and uneven strokes of white paint, and those who prefer to live in their own paintings, falling asleep and waking up in an exciting riot of color, shapes and textures.
A couple of French artists, Miriam and Dominique,We were so tired of the greyness and frantic pace of Paris, even though for us it is the most romantic of cities, that we took our two children and our simple belongings and fled to a town called Nimes.
Housing here is much cheaper, and the family was able to afford spacious apartments with high ceilings and an excellent platform for creative exploration.
Every piece of furniture in this interior cantell your own life story — it’s not so easy to find a new piece here. The owners brought many chairs, tables and armchairs from numerous trips and reupholstered them with bright textiles upon arrival, including from Robert Le Heros.
There are allusions and mysteries at every step here - just look at the stairs that practically reach the bed and the photo wallpaper with books in the library.
And, as in many creative houses, there is a huge number of hand-made objects. However, due to the surrounding "live" interior, it is not so easy to single out a handicraft object.
Of course, the ambience of the space itselfhigh narrow windows, stucco and baroque ceilings set the basic and quite clear rhythm, but we are sure that with the right approach, strong desire and sense of style, a similar result can be achieved in the conditions of Russian realities.
