Usually designers do this with small onesapartments like this: choose a couple of cozy light shades and dilute them with bright accents. In the case of this Far Eastern apartment, the choice fell on the most unexpected color - black. The result is stunning Old houses from Stalin's times are known for their inconvenient layouts and small apartment areas, but it is in them that you usually find the highest ceilings and large beautiful windows. It was these two features that helped designer Tatyana Shishkina bring to life a bold idea - black monochrome. Related articles Tatyana Shishkina, interior designer Tatyana received an education in the specialty "interior art" at the Far Eastern State Technical University. After college, she worked in one of the famous design studios in Vladivostok, and on September 4, 2014, together with a colleague, she officially opened the Inroom design studio. She won the 8th season of the international Pinwin competition, the Barlett Interior Awards 2016 and the Add Awards 2016. She calls her work not just a hobby, but a passion, a second life. Such a high ceiling with a very small area gives the effect of a well. And the designer decided to turn this minus into an advantage by dividing the space vertically. As a result, the apartment acquired a second level and new usable area, and its residents will not feel like they are at the bottom. Thanks to the additional space, new opportunities to place all the zones necessary for life. On the first level there was a hallway with a wardrobe for seasonal clothes, a bathroom with a large shower, a living room with a soft sofa and a TV area, a tiny but functional kitchen. The second level was allocated for a bedroom with a large bed, a dressing room that can be hidden behind curtains, and a small office. The new layout made the customer very happy, because before she had to sleep on a fold-out sofa, and there was a catastrophic lack of storage space. In such a non-standard apartment and decorationshould be original, so the main color in the design was black. And so that the space did not look gloomy and overloaded, it was accompanied by an oak white floor and a snow-white ceiling. One little trick helped to reduce the height and make the room lighter: a ceiling frieze 30 centimeters high.Of course, such an unusual designrequired thoughtful lighting. It was necessary to place several sources of "warm" light to create coziness - a floor lamp by the sofa, a table lamp near the TV stand, a large decorative chandelier and a small lamp by the bed. But it was impossible to do without the main lighting - high-power overhead spotlights with a neutral light temperature. If necessary, they will flood the entire space of the studio with light. As for furniture, a lot will be done.to order, because in a small apartment every centimeter is important, and it is very difficult to choose ready-made furniture of the required dimensions. For example, the kitchen set will be made to order - the lower facades of painted MDF, the upper ones of veneer tinted black, and the hallmark of the kitchen will be a retro refrigerator Gorenje. In the living room, the TV stand will also be made to order, the sofa and coffee table were chosen from the B&B brand. In the bathroom, strict Germans made friends with the soft French - Duravit plumbing and Volevatch faucets. It turned out to be a great combination! Related articles ground floor plan
