Today we will tell you about a young designer whoseThe entire design world will soon know his name. Why? Because Farid Rasulov is mega-talented. He creates interiors, designs furniture and even has his sights set on clothing collections. The portal's editor-in-chief Oksana Kashenko interviewed the designer — At what age did you realize you wanted to become an artist? — At a fairly mature age. It wasn't like I was rushing and dreaming of a career as a famous artist since childhood or answering the question "Who do you want to be?" exactly like that. Only after I graduated from medical school did I come to the understanding and awareness that the medical profession was not for me, and I just wanted to take and change everything. By that time, I was visiting a friend, Faik Akhmed, in his art studio, where talented young contemporary artists gathered, where there was a completely different atmosphere, everything was completely different: fun, interesting, educational. It was this atmosphere of the art studio, where I was surrounded by interesting people, absorbed in art and their own different worldview, that prompted me to reconsider my future. That's how I wanted to change everything and become an artist.— What is your education? — Medical. I am an ophthalmologist with honors, which I sometimes forget! — What has had the greatest influence on you?as an artist? - Firstly, a very strong desire to create and to be in a creative environment. Creativity is always something new, and everything new, in turn, is movement and development. As a person who cannot stand still, I strove for this kind of activity. The medical profession dictated its own. So I slipped away. Secondly, friends who were not afraid of experiments and did interesting work. I learned from them, consulted with them and thus moved forward. Exhibitions in which the artist participates also have a great influence, this is always new communication, the experience of other people, a completely different vision of the world and, accordingly, different art. — How did you get started in industrialdesign? - Completely by accident. A few years ago, when I was just starting my career as an artist, I joined my artist friends who were working part-time as apartment designers. Since then, I have acquired some skills related to furniture and accessories, learned to work in 3D and with the Autocad program of all designers. Over time, the artist's profession began to bring in some income, and I left design. A few years later, at the 55th Venice Biennale, where I represented Azerbaijan with a carpet room, I again became interested in design. — Tell us about the exhibition forVenice Biennale. — The work consisted of a room, all elements and accessories of which were completely covered with carpet ornament. The Azerbaijan pavilion was in an accessible place, which contributed to a large flow of people and caused the same great interest. Many articles were written about my work, much was said and discussed, people found out after some time, when I told people. In general, everything was successful. — Tell us about your furniture brand.— First of all, I would like to note that the creation of CHELEBI Furniture and Décor would not have been possible without the support of my friend, the brilliant artist Aida Makhmudova. We came up with the style and direction together. It was the joint investment of energy and effort that led to the fact that we were able to create such a brand. Then the work was carried out by a professional team consisting of General Manager Simon Akhmed, Creative Director Orkhan Huseynov and me. We all worked hard and solved the problems that we set for ourselves: we traveled and found factories, negotiated, signed contracts and slept like babies from fatigue. It lasted for two years. The preparation was at a good level. It was difficult, but it is fun and interesting when it is difficult! — What is most important to you, where does it come from?the idea of ornaments, how would you like to develop this direction? - The main thing in the creation of furniture and accessories CHELEBI Furniture and Décor is the preservation of national color, the use of traditional ornaments, forms. But all this should be combined with the modern direction and trends of design. We have a difficult task, but we cope with it. Ornaments play a special role in the creation of furniture and accessories: these are interpretations of the Sheki shebeke, Guba zeishur and, of course, the Karabakh chelebi, in honor of which the brand was named. It is not for nothing that I mentioned the interpretation of ornaments, since they change - color, shape - but the foundation remains. — Tell us about your clothing collection.— I have nothing to tell yet, as I have not presented a personalized clothing collection, there are only a few suits that I have sewn for myself. As standard as it may sound, I have very little time to implement all the ideas that come to mind. The artist's profession requires a lot of energy. I can compare it to a small child who develops, but does not grow physically, always remaining active and requiring attention. The slightest hack work leads to imbalance. Sometimes CHELEBI tears me away from everything else, but it is always necessary to maintain balance and move on. — What interior style is closest to you? — Simple white color, wood, comfortable upholstered furniture, interesting accessories, large windows and all the best that can be. — What is in your own home ininterior? — I live with my parents for now, it's a semi-Soviet interior with an Azerbaijani accent. Everything is very standard and practical, without experiments. I can't wait to start doing the interior in my own house in the near future. I think there will be a lot of things from CHELEBI there.
